The Property

A charming, stone-built, detached cottage, situated in a quiet location, five minutes' walk from the centre of the pretty market town of Pickering. Retaining its original character, this traditional 200-year old cottage boasts wooden floors, stripped pine doors and beamed ceilings, and with a welcoming, homely feel, it makes the perfect Pickering holiday cottage. Lovingly furnished and decorated to a high standard, visitors will enjoy the cosy, comfortable rooms, and large, pretty, secluded garden, complete with a decked area, perfect for alfresco dining. With good shops, quaint tea rooms, excellent pubs and restaurants, trout fishing, and a castle, the town of Pickering has something to satisfy every taste. Enjoy a steam train ride on the famous North York Moors Railway, or explore the breathtaking scenery and wonderful walking opportunities available on the North York Moors. The coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby are within easy reach, and the historic city of York is close by. A truly wonderful Pickering cottage, and an ideal base all year round.

This historic market town, with its full range of amenities and with its traditional shops, pubs and restaurants, serves as the official gateway to the beautiful North York Moors National Park. Enjoy a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway – Harry Potter fans can even explore some of the locations used in the filming of The Philosopher’s Stone! The Beck Isle Museum is also well worth a visit with its unique collection of black and white photography and displays of rural life. Walkers will be spoilt for choice by the rolling hills, valleys, rivers and abundant wildlife of the North York Moors, whilst the City of York and the Heritage Coast are just half an hour’s drive away.
