The charming village of Lastingham engenders peace and relaxation and has much to offer today’s holidaymaker. It is a place of unique beauty and historic interest, nestling among the folds of hills at the southern edge of the North York Moors. This quiet haven, with less than 100 inhabitants, has a charming olde worlde pub, The Blacksmith’s Arms, but perhaps its most famous building is the splendid and historic Crypt Church of St Mary with its wonderful ancient crypt. The surrounding area has many and varied attractions - The North York Moors Steam Railway, Hutton-le-Hole Folk Museum, Eden Camp Modern History Museum and Flamingo Land Theme Park. There’s an abundance of castles, abbeys, churches and stately homes to visit, including the magnificent Castle Howard. Last, but not least, there’s the glorious countryside - woodland and heather moorland, hills, dales and coast.

This charming and beautifully secluded chalet bungalow is situated in the owners’ private and peaceful gardens in the idyllic village of Lastingham. It is comfortable and well equipped throughout and makes a very cosy and quiet retreat. Visitors are welcome to wander around the acre in which the chalet is set. An ideal base for exploring this beautiful corner of North Yorkshire. The owners personally welcome guests.

Bed linen inc. in rent. 24 hour laundry service by arrangement. Personal towels can be hired at £2 per person per week. Cot by arrangement. Roadside parking for one car. Private, secluded sitting area at rear with garden furniture and BBQ. Use of owners’ 1 acre garden. Sorry, no pets. Sorry, no smoking. Pub 2 mins walk, shop 3 miles in Rosedale, supermarket 5 miles in Kirkbymoorside. (Cottage available from mid May to end Sept only).
