Situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and handily placed for touring both the Moors and the Coast, the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey is set within Rosedale, a beautiful valley of sweeping hillsides and breathtaking views. Rosedale is surrounded by wonderful moorland countryside with walks in every direction. Today, a stone pillar, staircase and sundial are all that is left of the 12th century Cistercian Priory that gave the village its unusual name. Charming stone built cottages cluster around the village green alongside the village shops, tea rooms, art gallery, glass studio and two old country pubs/restaurants. The village is home to a pitch-and-putt golf course, as well as horse riding, which are ideal for a fun, family day out. Visit the nearby pretty village of Hutton-le-Hole with its amazing village green and Ryedale Folk Museum, a ‘hands on’ museum of local life and tradition. Kirkbymoorside is just 7 miles away, whilst the coastal towns and fishing villages of the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.

With underfloor heating throughout, this Rosedale Abbey cottage provides very comfortable accommodation in a tranquil setting. The countryside views are outstanding from all aspects and this Rosedale Abbey cottage lies deep in the North York Moors yet within easy reach of the local amenities and key tourist attractions. There are wonderful walking opportunities from the doorstep of this cottage near Rosedale Abbey, and the nearby pretty market towns of Kirkbymoorside and Malton have two excellent golf courses. Visit the historic abbeys at Rievaulx and Byland and take a trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway nearby at Pickering. Castle Howard and the historic city of York are well worth visiting from this Rosedale Abbey cottage and the seaside resorts of Whitby, Filey and Scarborough are within easy reach.

The location of the cottage was stunning and totally brilliant for anyone that wants to literally get away from everything as there is no mobile phone signal in the immediate area which was great. A fabulous location, great views across the valley and near to plenty of places to visit. Quiet and very good for the dogs. A lovely owner, very friendly and accommodating and welcoming - the underfloor heating was excellent for getting things dry quickly and the dogs loved it too! We are going again this year for a 2nd time so that must say something!
