Kirkbymoorside 7 miles; Pickering 10 miles.
Situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and handily placed for touring both the Moors and the Coast, the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey is set within Rosedale, a beautiful valley of sweeping hillsides and breathtaking views. Rosedale is surrounded by wonderful moorland countryside with walks in every direction. Today, a stone pillar, staircase and sundial are all that is left of the 12th century Cistercian Priory that gave the village its unusual name. Charming stone built cottages cluster around the village green alongside the village shops, tea rooms, art gallery, glass studio and two old country pubs/restaurants. The village is home to a pitch-and-putt golf course, as well as horse riding, which are ideal for a fun, family day out. Visit the nearby pretty village of Hutton-le-Hole with its amazing village green and Ryedale Folk Museum, a ‘hands on’ museum of local life and tradition. Kirkbymoorside is just 7 miles away, whilst the coastal towns and fishing villages of the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.

Miss Baker, Corsham, October 2012
The location of the cottage was stunning and totally brilliant for anyone that wants to literally get away from everything as there is no mobile phone signal in the immediate area which was great. Lovely cottage, all elements were fantastic and we will definitely look to book up for a return visit as loads to do and see in the area that we still have not done.

This holiday cottage is in a really lovely location with beautiful views and the owner was really welcoming. I went with my mum and my sister and we all agreed it was probably the nicest cottage location we have ever been. We would all like to return. We would highly recommend it.
Miss Sanders, Grimsby, July 2012
The property was superb with everything you needed for a cottage holiday. Fabulous view of the Moors. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The cottage is in a good position to visit local places and also within walking distance of village amenities i.e. pub and tearooms. We will definitely visit again!
Mrs Hutchinson, Boston, July 2012
We enjoyed the wonderful location and the views from the cottage. Also the option, given fine weather, of being able to sit out at the end of the cottage and enjoy the view down Rosedale. It is also a good location from which to explore the North York Moors.
Mr Barber, Tonbridge, June 2012

Mrs Maxwell, Biggleswade, May 2012
A fabulous location, great views across the valley and near to plenty of places to visit. Quiet and very good for the dogs. A lovely owner, very friendly and accommodating and welcoming - the underfloor heating was excellent for getting things dry quickly and the dogs loved it too! We are going again this year for a 2nd time so that must say something!
