Midway between the fishing town of Whitby, with its famous Abbey, and the Spa town of Scarborough, with its theatres and entertainment, it is a haven of peace offering the best of both worlds. The Staintondale Shire Horse Farm is just down the road, while there is a network of footpaths and bridleways in the village. A superb base from which to explore the region.

Just down the road are the Staintondale Shire Horse Farm and Pesky Husky trekking centre, while there are wonderful walks straight from the door of this Staintondale cottage. Enjoy the many delights of the area including hidden coves and beaches, exhilarating cliff top walks and coastal villages such as Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay. The location of the cottage was excellent as was the view. The owners were friendly and very helpful. The cottage itself was warm, cosy, beautifully furnished and the comfort factor of the double bed is to die for!
