Once a thriving port dealing in ironstone, Port Mulgrave now offers a quiet coastal retreat, with superb sea views and cliff-top walks to the fishing village of Staithes or to pretty Runswick Bay. A few miles south is the popular holiday town of Whitby, famous for its fish and chips, which offers winding streets, hidden alleys, a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course, the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps. The North York Moors National Park is practically on the doorstep, where you can watch the steam trains of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Alternatively visit the peaceful village of Goathland (Aidensfield in the TV programme ‘Heartbeat’), or, for thrills and spills, Flamingo Land near Malton. A truly family friendly destination.

A cosy mid-terraced cottage with sea views, in the hamlet of Port Mulgrave, 1.5 miles from the fishing village of Staithes. Tastefully modernised, this charming property has been restored and extended to offer comfortable accommodation in a superb location. There are views to the sea from the cottage, and The Cleveland Way coastal path and The North York Moors National Park are just on the doorstep, while the pretty village of Runswick Bay and the bustling town of Whitby, famed for its fish and chips and imposing Abbey, are just a few miles away.
Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x ground floor adult bunks with additional folding bed. Ground floor bathroom with bath with shower over, WC & basin. Fitted kitchen. Study area at base of stairs. Pleasant sitting room with gas fire & views over the garden to the sea.

Quiet location and we could walk directly from the property to the Cleveland Way. Good place to visit surrounding area from. Comfortable cottage, lovely and warm when we needed it to be. We were also blessed with glorious sunshine even if it was cold.

We loved everything about our holiday. We had excellent views of the sea. The cottage was comfortable and clean. The locals were all friendly and there were plenty of walks. It was very relaxing and there were plenty of places to visit. All in all a brilliant holiday.
