This characterful Lealholm cottage retains many original features with beamed ceilings, stripped wooden floors and terracotta tiles. The cosy and inviting sitting room offers a woodburner in a feature fireplace, whilst the walls have authentic wooden panelling. The modern kitchen of this Lealholm cottage leads off the sitting room with French doors leading to the decked patio where you will find a hot tub set under the stars, the perfect relaxation at the end of a busy day, whilst the entrance room doubles as a lovely sun lounge with additional seating. Cottage stairs lead up to the two pretty bedrooms, which boast fine views over the moorland. With the added luxury of underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom, this cottage near Lealholm is the perfect place to escape to at any time of the year! The small, friendly village of Lealholm is a delight, with sheep wandering the lanes and the river meandering through the valley. There is an excellent country inn serving good food, a local shop, a bakery and a couple of tea rooms, one situated in the old shepherd's hall. With numerous public footpaths taking you through wonderful scenery, this is a walker's paradise! For the less energetic, the seaside town of Whitby is just nine miles away with its quaint streets and alleyways, cobbled market square and many fine eating places. Enjoy the long, sandy beaches, climb the 199 steps up to the abbey or visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. There is plenty here for everyone. Why not enjoy a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway from nearby Grosmont, or explore the fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay? With so many attractions in the area, this Lealholm cottage provides the perfect base.

Lealholm is in the centre of the lovely Esk Valley within the North York Moors National Park and just 15 minutes' drive from the magnificent Yorkshire coast. It is a picturesque village which caters well for the visitor with a Post Office, shop, pub and tea rooms/restaurant all on hand. There are wonderful countryside walks in every direction and don’t be surprised to see moorland sheep wandering freely through the village and along the banks of the river! The quaint fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay, the sandy beach of Sandsend and the ancient port of Whitby are all close by.
