  • "There were numerous things that need addressing with this property."

On arrival it was raining chair cushions were all outside wet and umbrella thrown on the floor, weeds everywhere and decking dirty and in need of a brush, weeds growing in all gutters and rubbish under caravan. On entry the property seemed very nice however as we got settled in there were crumbs still under toaster which made you feel that nothing had been cleaned properly. Fridge door was broken so you had to open two doors to get in. Kettle was dangerous and scolded my hand as lid open when pouring. Ensuite bathroom towel rail held on with blue tack and the list goes on. I've used sykes for many years now and have found in recent years none of the properties are checked properly and they seem to rely on people staying to inform them of problems! Seriously considering taking my business elsewhere....

Thank you for providing feedback on your stay. The outside cushions are waterproof so they are designed for the weather. The umbrella is collapsed and laid down for guests, as we do not want the wind to catch it unsupervised. The decking is power washed and cleaned regularly, unfortunately as there are trees about especially with winds it doesn't take long for twigs and leaves to fall. The fridge is built with plastic runners and is integral, which do come off unfortunately but they can be placed back on. We will make the cleaning staff aware of the crumbs under the toaster, thank you for letting us know. The kettle is a household standard kettle, we're unsure how this may be dangerous unless used incorrectly. We are not aware of the towel rail being held by bluetack as this certainly shouldn't be the case and will check on this immediately. Property Owner

The six of us were impressed with the units modern interior. The beds were comfy and the area was very quiet for a camp site. The only issue we had was the internet both in the unit and on the site was terrible.

  • "Enjoyed our stay at Cayton Pines lodge."

We found cleanliness issues especially the seats around the dining table which were very stained. As it was Xmas we obviously cooked a full Xmas dinner. There was a shortage of dishes in which to keep things warm or to microwave vegetables etc. Other than that it was very well equipped and very warm and comfortable.

Thank you very much for your feedback we will address the points you have raised and hopefully welcome you back again in the future Property Owner

  • "Calling all family who are looking for a holiday lodge which caters for all age groups I've found it."

From the rap around decking with wheelchair access. We as a family always go on holiday with my elderly mum and struggle to find facilities that please all age groups. We had six in the lodge and it was very spacious, location was perfect for visiting surroundings towns and beaches. The evening were just perfect further enough away for the club house for any loud music ,as my mum goes to bed early . The owners Sam and Andy couldn’t have more obliging ,there portfolio of accommodation is a credit to there excellent customer service and high stardards. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • "Lovely welcome by the owners with wine, milk and biscuits."

Exceptionally clean and comfortable with everything you need. Nice quiet position on the site. The outside cushion seats and umbrella do need a bit of attention. The site was also very clean and had great facilities for children and dog walking. The fantastic Cayton bay beach is about 10 min walk but well worth it. Great coastal walks on the doorstep, we walked to Scarborough and Filey, both are great. Would recommend The Bull inn in Gristhorpe for excellent food and ambiance. We had lovely weather all week which just made everything better.

It was spotlessly clean, had everything you could think off, we had 5 adults and 2 dogs staying there and had more than enough room, it’s actually bigger than it looks on the photos. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We are planning to book again for next year and properly every year after that. We can not fault it at all. Phillip and Samantha were the perfect hosts and even left us wine, chocolate mints, hand sanitiser, antibacterial wipes and hand wipes.

Beautifully decorated and really spacious and comfortable. A lovely quiet setting with easy access. It was lovely to receive a bottle of wine and box of chocolates also waiting for us. The owners also checked that we were ok which was appreciated. The only issues we had was the WiFi was very poor and as mentioned in the lodge welcome pack the kids should have been able to access the amusement arcade but were refused entry and were unable to do anything on the park unless we paid the park facility fees. Overall we had a super time, Cayton beach is brilliant and plenty to do in the local area and amazing places to visit. Would definitely come back.

  • "The lodge was in the best location on the park not in the busy area."

Only a short walk to the beach and located in a good place to be able to visit Filey and Scarborough, we used the park and ride. The stained glass centre was a nice place for afternoon tea and the Scarborough Fair collection is a wonderful visit for adults and children alike located on the Flower of May holiday park. The only slight things that would have been a plus to ourselves and others that use the lodge, it needs a set of paring knives and a better toaster as the bread does not fit in properly and a coffee machine would have been lovely. We would recommend this lodge to others.

The facilities are second to none, it’s like staying in a boutique hotel. The lodge was so clean and there was everything you could possibly need within. There was a bottle of wine and a box of chocs along with tea, coffee, milk & sugar waiting for us. It was great to be able to have a cuppa as soon as we got there. Our dog was welcome and our kids and baby grandchild joined us too, the cot and high chair were brilliant! I can highly recommend Cayton Pines and have already told my brother how to make a booking. We will most definitely be back in fact I am going to book a week off work later in the year and I’m going to rebook this week!! You should definitely do the same!

  • "We never expected such high standards, especially sited on a holiday camp."

Everything was absolutely perfect. I don't know where to start. Bottle of wine and a box of chocolates. Tea, coffee and milk waiting for us. Everything we needed supplied and of good quality. Heating, if needed, and hot water plentiful and indeed hot. Cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, dish washer, washing machine, 4 televisions, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans, crockery, all in superb condition and top grade. We liked the tea, coffee, sugar set and the kettle so much we did an online search and bought some for ourselves. Standards way exceed anything we have experienced in major chain motel rooms, surpass any self catering we have visited and better any hotels we have stayed at. I find it impossible to make a negative or even neutral comment about this holiday cottage. The owners deserve to be proud of themselves. Well done.
