We had a really good holiday here and were able to take the best advantage of the weather by deciding each day whether to head for the Moors or the Dales depending on the wether forecast. In this way we managed to avoid the rain for our stay. Each of the two areas offered lots of different attractions which suited both adults and teenagers alike. Accomodation was very well presented and it felt like home from home. Absolutely marvellous and would recommend this property to anyone.
Thirsk 5 miles.
The peaceful village of Knayton sits on a small hillside on the edge of the Vale of York, quietly nestling between the Hambleton Hills to the east and the Yorkshire Dales to the west. Built around the village green, this lovely village boasts an excellent local pub and good walking and cycling opportunities in the surrounding countryside. Just 7 miles away is the market town of Northallerton, offering excellent shops and a weekly market, whilst Thirsk is just 5 miles to the south, boasting a famous racecourse as well as a cobbled market square and quaint little alleyways awash with cosy teashops and lovely little delicatessens. With the historic cathedral cities of York and Ripon also within easy reach, this great area has something for everyone.

Lovely well presented cottage. Great position for both the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. It allowed us to have a wider option for things to do and see.
