Location: Runswick Bay

Staithes 2 miles; Whitby 9 miles; Saltburn-by-the-Sea 10 miles.

Runswick Bay, with its narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, is one of the gems of the East Coast. This picturesque old fishing village, situated 9 miles from Whitby, nestles in a small bay, backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. The village is unspoilt and uncommercialised, with cars restricted from the village, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Holidaymakers will enjoy exploring the cobbled, twisting alleyways, the lovely sandy beach - well known for fossil hunting - and the cliff-top walks, including the Cleveland Way. The village houses three local inns, all serving food, and one tearoom, whilst nearby Hinderwell provides a village shop. There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting seaside towns such as Whitby, with its famous Abbey, or touring the dramatic North York Moors.

Mrs Kennett, Boston, September 2012

The owners were there to meet us when we arrived and available throughout the holiday. The apartment was spotless and there was a well kept garden and seating area. This is the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in.
Mrs Troupe, Boldon Colliery, September 2012

Superb property, with the feel of a home. Wine, biscuits and milk were left for our arrival - a very thoughtful touch. The owner had a very positive and friendly personality. A nice setting with a secure carding which made it safe for my granddaughter to run off her energy!
Mr Holdforth, Coventry, July 2012

The personal warm welcome from the owner with his detailed information on the area was very much appreciated. The flowers, wine, tea, coffee and biscuits were a lovely touch. The apartment was decorated and equipped to the highest standard.
