  • "The property was just as described, great for three of us and a bedroom each."

A very nice central position and five minutes at most to buses, trains, pubs, shops, eateries etc. Spot on!

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "Ideal location and great that it has parking."

Clean Decent shower It was very cold when we arrived but figured out the heating quite easily. The facilities are all good. It sleeps 6 but there is only 1 parking space, although for Whitby having 1 space is a bonus. It is very secure and off road. The towels are small and hard so if you like a big, soft towel, take your own. Would definitely recommend to others. Could do with some firmer pillows.

Thank you very much for your feedback Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time in the flat with its view of the harbour and abbey and all the equipment provided."

The only issues were in getting in initially - the gates to the car park are very slow - and the fact that emails were sent after our departure from home, which weren't received until after our arrival home a few days after our departure from the accommodation. I had some difficulty with the velux blinds but we managed. We certainly recommend this property.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Sorry to read you weren’t sent emails on how to access Harbour Lodge in good time - Sykes should have sent those automatically to you well before you arrived and I will raise it with them. It must have been frustrating for you Property Owner

.. everything as described, if not better. Only improvement would be the provision of a lift, as carting all the luggage up to the top floor was exhausting... maybe should have taken less!

The added addition of underground parking is just an added bonus. The apartment is spacious light and airy with a well equipped kitchen, bedrooms have plenty of storage and hanging space, beds are comfortable. Enjoyed our stay very much and would probably not consider staying anywhere else it just meets all our needs. We are getting on a bit so the stairs may become a problem, but not yet. Hope to return again.

  • "We had a lovely holiday in this apartment."

The location couldn’t be better, 5 mins walk from the station, the seafront and the supermarket. And having a car parking space in Whitby is really fantastic as parking is a challenge in high season. It’s a really nice flat, well kitted-out and beautifully clean except for a slightly doggy smell when we arrived which we aired out. The big windows meant we could keep cool in the recent hot weather. I was away with my teenage daughters and their friends- they loved that there are 2 bathrooms, room to sit in the kitchen- and also tell me that the charity shops of Whitby have some great bargains.

  • "A very spacious and well equipped apartment, in a great location."

This flat is right by the bus and train station, and enjoys good views of the river and abbey. It is close to the centre but away from the crowds. We were a party of 6 adults, and found the accommodation to be perfectly suited to our needs. Unusually for a holiday let, we found there was plenty of storage space in the lounge, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. There was more than enough cutlery and crockery too. Having an underground parking space was a great bonus (if your party is taking more cars permits can be purchased from the tourist office, which is near the accommodation). The only criticism I have is that the bath towels were tiny (not bath sheets that I’m used to) and there weren’t enough small towels provided. If I went again I’d take my own.

The location is great as you can walk to the town to get shopping or to go for a walk along the beautiful coastline, undeground secure parking is a nice bonus. We liked the views, comfy sofas and how spacious the place was. However, the bathrooms were looking a bit 'tired' and could do with a revamp, also the beds were slightly uncomfortable. Otherwise it is a great spot for a getaway for families or groups of friends alike.

The kettle needs to be replaced, not pleasant inside at all. The kitchen is not that well equipped really in terms of utensils. More information on the recycling would be thoughtful instead of having to search the bin area. A bin for each waste type would be sensible with refuse bags supplied to suit. A second set of keys would also be useful. Cleanliness was OK but some more attention should be given to details such as the kettle (resorted to saucepan) , utensils, glasses all of which had to be washed prior to use. Nothing particularly dramatic but would help to improve the review.

Secure parking. Everything you need to have a good holiday. Warm and well equipped. Description is a little off. The Juliet balcony is off the lounge not the bedroom. Also the family bedroom is at the rear of the property and doesn't have harbour views. There's also a WC downstairs which is a bonus but not mentioned in the description.
