Previous visitors' comments about Maplebeck:

Maplebeck is a wonderful cottage, ideally situated within walking distance of Whitby. The cottage is on the banks of the river, offering wonderful views and a chance to see lots of wildlife. There are many things to see and do within the area including Goathland (Heartbeat village) and Falling Foss waterfall. By far the best property we have stayed in to date that is dog friendly.
Mrs Sneyd, Manchester, November 2011

The setting was wonderful - nice and relaxing but only a 20 minute walk into Whitby or 5 mins by car. The house was really nice and we felt really comfortable there. It was nice and warm as well - a good point when you go away in November. One thing I would say is that the photos on the web page do not do it justice - particularly the sitting area and balcony off the main bedroom. We would definitely go back there.

The accommodation and location was outstanding, making our holiday perfect in every way! Once again Sykes Cottages excellent staff have helped us find exactly what we were looking for. Thank you!
Mr Whitfield, Market Rasen, October 2011

The location is awesome. There were seals swimming in the river Esk which backs onto the garden and ducks and geese came every morning to be hand fed. There were also Kingfishers, Herons, and Cormorants. The setting is fantastic and so is the cottage. We would recommend it to everyone.
