    • “This is a really high standard self catering cottage, and if you like trains, you'll love the steam engine which passes by four times a day. Even for non train lovers its a good location, about 10 minutes level walk to the centre of Whitby. We plan to return.”

    • “Usual first class service from Sykes. One of the best cottages we've stayed in.Being a railway buff it couldn't be any better and amenities excellent.Everything about the cottage was ideal if a fault has to be picked it would be the white carpet in the living room and bringing a dog into it. • “A perfect stay”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We found this cottage a perfect stay. It overlooks the railway line into Whitby, which serves both the national railway and preserved NYMR. There was nothing to fault with the accommodation, well equipped and decorated. In addition, although we were just a couple it would easily sleep eight so bags of room. Another bonus was the strong WiFi, which I certainly welcomed. Location wise was perfect, as it was an easy 10 minute walk into Whitby (to the rail station and Co Op), whilst been on the outskirts it was easy to get to by car. Plus it has its own off-road parking space outside the front door. The only thing I might have done better would be to offer a complemantary bottle of wine and / or bottle of milk on arrival, but then that is just nitpicking... Plus, no guest book; it is always nice to read other guests comments.”

    Mr McCabe, Middlesbrough, August 2015

    • “The house was great; it was clean and very nicely decorated and we particularly loved the children's room. We had everything we needed and it was very close to Whitby town centre. The two parking spaces were a real bonus as we have paid extra in the past for parking. There was an issue with the dishwasher and the owner came out straight away to sort it which was great. He also gave us some tips of places to eat.”

    Mrs Brown, Nottingham, May 2015

    • “It was the first time my family and I had been to Whitby and it was a most enjoyable experience. The house being located alongside the railway was ideal for any train enthusiast. Even if you were not into trains, the view of the Abbey and riverside were excellent. The Railway Cottage was within easy walking distance of the town centre and was a convenient area to explore the Yorkshire moors.”

    • “This was our second stay at Railway cottage - we like Whitby and of the many places which we have occupied there we prefer Railway Cottage.”

    Mr Clayton, Stone, July 2014

    • “Superb location, wonderful views of the Abbey and Harbour. It was great to see the steam trains rolling past each morning and afternoon. We particularly loved the patio area to sit outside in - thankfully we were blessed with warm, sunny weather. There was lots of space in the cottage for our party of eight. My wife and I had the penthouse with balcony and en suite bathroom, which couldn't be bettered. We came with close family to celebrate my 60th birthday and all in all it was an unforgettable holiday. Whitby never disappoints and this cottage was the best accommodation we have had in 25 years of coming here. Worth every mile of the long journey from Hertfordshire!”
