Very nice clean house tucked away on the hills but still easy distance from Whitby. Cooking facilities could be updated (oven and microwave)

DGray, Northampton, June 2010

Location: Lealholm

Whitby 9 miles; Staithes 10 miles; Runswick Bay 10 miles.

Lealholm is in the centre of the lovely Esk Valley within the North York Moors National Park and just 15 minutes drive from the magnificent Yorkshire Coast. It is a picturesque village which caters well for the visitor with a Post Office, shop, pub and tearooms/restaurant all on hand. There are wonderful countryside walks in every direction and don’t be surprised to see moorland sheep wandering freely through the village and along the banks of the river! The quaint fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay, the sandy beach of Sandsend and the ancient port of Whitby are all closeby.

Mr & Mrs Clift-williams, Brigg, March 2010

We had a very warm welcome from the lovely owners. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they even gave us fresh vegetables from their garden. The property was immaculately clean and the view was just amazing, a vast panorama of green countryside to the front of the property and the moorland heather to the rear. We are definitely going to return.
Mrs Hill, London, September 2009

Very pleasant cottage. Clean, well equipped and comfortable. Wonderful views over the moors. Footpath across the moors from the cottage.
