Whitby 10 miles.
The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides and there is a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliffside to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.
A lovely, traditional Staithes cottage, The Cottage is one of a row of quaint fishermen’s cottages situated next to Roxby Beck in Staithes. This Staithes cottage is in a pretty setting with boats moored across the beck from the cottage and Staithes’ famous craggy cliffs as a backdrop. The footbridge is close by allowing visitors to cross to either side of the harbour and the village shops and pubs are just a 2 minute walk away. Inside, this Staithes cottage is cosy and welcoming, with a multi fuel stove in the sitting room and pretty views over the beckside path to the beck, boats and cliffs beyond. A lovely Staithes cottage, full of charm and character!

Situation is incredible; Staithes is an amazing wee place.

The property's location beside the Beck with the outside sitting area alongside the Beck. The feel and history of Staines, meals at the 'Bistro','Cod and Lobster' and the nearby 'Fox & Hounds'. The easy walk to the harbour with the local butcher and general store. The friendly neighbours and the helpful owner.
