Location: Robin Hood’s Bay

Whitby 6 miles; Scarborough 17 miles.

Robin Hood's Bay, with its narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, is one of the most picturesque villages on the English coastline. Situated between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming old fishing village is to be found nestling at the edge of a wide sweeping bay backed by spectacular cliffs and dramatic moorland scenery, and was once home to author Leo Walmsley. All holidaymakers will love the beach and its cliff top walks whilst more serious walkers will enjoy the many long distance trails that pass through the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast walks which all take in Robin Hood’s Bay. The village amenities are superb, with charming alleyways to explore and plenty of places to rest, relax and take refreshment. A perfect base for enjoying the Yorkshire Coast.

Previous visitors' comments about The Goat Shed:

Excellent, warm and snug and I suppose very lovely in the summer. Safe compound for the dog - would go again and we would recommend.
Mrs Haigh, Sheffield, December 2011

The cottage was very warm, clean, functional and you could see that there had been a lot of thought and planning put into it to make sure you were very comfortable. A good location for touring the areas around Whitby and Yorkshire Moors. It is also a very private cottage, and the owners were very pleasant and helpful. I loved it and would certainly return.
Ms Miller, Cramlington, October 2011

A lovely warm cottage, very spacious and a great location for getting out and about. Robin Hoods Bay and Sandsend are delightful places to visit. We never knew there was so much to see and do in and around Whitby.
Mrs Hamilton, Sale, October 2011

A perfect location to explore the coast and moors inland, and for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday.
