The Property

Whitby 1 mile. An attractive, mid-mews cottage, in a small complex of similar properties, set by the banks of the River Esk, one mile from the popular fishing town of Whitby. This bright and airy, modern Whitby cottage has been well furnished, providing a very comfortable holiday home, with patio doors in the sitting room and an archway leading to a well equipped kitchen. The double bedroom of this Whitby cottage has sliding doors to another room with an outside balcony - a lovely place to sit and watch the wildlife on the river and spot the steam trains going by. This room has a sprung-mattress sofabed, and can be sectioned off by sliding doors to form two rooms if required. There are communal lawned grounds outside this Whitby cottage, reaching down to the river, where seals, swans and ducks are regular visitors! The property also has use of a boat ramp. Although conveniently located away from the hustle and bustle, Whitby centre is just a short walk from this Whitby cottage, great to explore the cobbled streets, stroll on the beaches, visit the famous abbey and sample the many bars and restaurants. The surrounding area has a wealth of attractions, including the stunning scenery of the North York Moors, tearooms in pretty coastal villages, and trips on the steam train to name but a few. A great Whitby cottage for all the family.

Previous visitors' comments about White Goose Cottage:

The location is lovely, right on the River Esk. We could walk into Whitby along the viaduct and disused railway line which took about 30 minutes. The property was well equipped, even with Sky plus TV which was a real bonus, and very comfy furniture. We had visits everyday from the local ducks. I would recommend this property to friends and family.

A spectacular riverside location, being able to walk into Whitby while passing steam trains and cheeky ducks. The cottage was well-equipped.
Mr Mellowes, Ruislip, August 2011

We were pleasantly surprised by the proximity of White Goose Cottage to the river, old viaduct and the daily steam trains passing by. Very relaxing location with an abundance of local wildlife - regular daily visits at feeding time from the resident ducks! Excellent base for exploring Whitby and surrounding area. Would definitely recommend visiting this area of Yorkshire and hope to return.
Miss Holt, Bradford, July 2011

A great location in close proximity to the river and wildlife, with several owls heard during the night and one sighting of a seal in the river at high tide! Great weather, peaceful break.
