The village is delightful, with a green and two pubs, both serving food, one dating back to the 1600s. The City of York is only 11 miles away, while the North York Moors Steam Railway in Pickering, and the East coast seaside towns of Bridlington, Hornsea and Scarborough, as well as Whitby and Harrogate are all within driving distance. Local activities abound and the area is excellent for walking, cycling and exploring.

The cottage was a little gem and extremely comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again some day.
Mrs Mckenna, Penzance, November 2011
Tranquility Base is set in a quiet tranquil village, with plenty of attractions to see and explore in the surrounding area. The cottage has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, with all mod. cons. The whole booking was hassle free and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property to our family and friends.
