    • “Another great stay”

    • “We stayed here earlier this year and liked it so much we came back. This cottage is a real home from home, welcoming, clean, well equipped and well located. We decided not to take our dogs this time and had a great time wandering around local sights and visiting cafe's. The scenery is fantastic and there is so much to do and see we are already planning our next trip. I don't want to tell too many people about this cottage or it will get booked up before we get a chance to re-book! However, f you are looking for a quality break at a bargain price - look no further!”

    • “Great location and lovely, homely cottage”

    • “We stay in self catering houses at least twice a year - this is one of the best we have ever stayed in. We like this cottage because it is clean, comfortable and warm. Particularly well equipped including wi fi - which we used for sussing out the many walks in the area! We walked the legs off our dogs and ourselves! It is very close to lots of eateries and local shops and is an easy run to the coast. Generous welcome pack, owners made us feel welcome and are really helpful. Good parking and enclosed garden for our big, boisterous dogs - good value for money - a great find - we have already booked our next stay!”

    • “Lovely cottage in picturesque area.”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We spent a great week in Ryedale and loved the cottage which was extremely well furnished and well equipped. We were so lucky with the weather, for the end of September even able to wear T-shirts. Kirbymoorside is a pleasant village, only marred by road works when we were there! We travelled up onto the Moor, to Hutton le Hole, Scarborough, Helmsley, Pickering for the railway and beautiful Castle Howard. Not having been to Ryedale for many years, we thoroughly enjoyed it all. Our only criticism would be, that the cottage is half way up a hill, which we were not aware of beforehand, and as we are not as young as we used to be we found the walk back and forth to Kirbymoorside a bit too much, although the view from the bedroom window was great. Nevertheless, when we did venture into the village, we could recommend the Kings Head. Very welcoming.”

    • “A great place for a holiday”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We came up North and found a gem of a place... very friendly owners who provided a welcome pack and were quick to sort out the one issue we had... the place is too nice for a holiday place as it has such a homely feel to it... The village is only a few minutes walk with the old established shops that have disappeared from so many high streets... the old butcher , baker and the lovely Wednesday market... Kirkbymoorside is ideally placed for all the local sites i.e Saltburn , Whitby, Scarborough and our only disappointment has been we haven't had enough time to explore it all.. And last but just as important it is very dog friendly with a lovely safe garden for our Golden Retriever to enjoy”

    • “Good location, nice house”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “We had a lovely time in Holme Lea Cottage. It is close to the village centre and had everything you would expected in the cottage. Newly done so everything is new and clean. Only down side is parking that you have to share the space with the owner of the house and there is only one car space. But we managed it fine.”

    • “We are always on the look out for nice cottages to rent in a not too rural setting. This place is a find.Beautiful cottage - decorated and furnished to a high standard, clean & cosy.Great enclosed garden - will be lovely to use in better weather (too cold when we went!).5 mins walk to market town centre - dog friendly pubs, friendly locals and all your basic needs were met on the door step. The owners of Holme Lea were friendly, helpful and welcoming. A welcome pack was left for us with all sorts of goodies in. Thank You Claire & Sid.Hopefully we will return in warmer weather. The photos of the property dont fully do it justice.”

    • “The comfort and cleanliness of the Cottage and the dog friendly garden were perfect. There was everything we needed including WiFi and we were given a lovely welcome from the owner. The location was excellent too, with lovely walks on the doorstep and a pretty village with lots of shops and nice pubs.”

    • “This is the second year in a row we have been to the cottage, it is a home away from home with everything you could need contained in the cottage. It is spacious and comfortable and really well positioned to get around everywhere you would want to go in North Yorkshire. If I return to North Yorkshire again in the future this is the only cottage I would want to book.”

Miss Allison, King's Lynn, July 2014

    • “Lovely cottage and a perfect base for exploring the area. Very comfortable and well equipped. We were delighted to find a welcome pack of groceries to tide us over until we could get to the shops. Broadband was also much appreciated.”
