    • “The Lodge was excellent. If I could transport it home I would keep it. The red squirrels come in the morning, and sitting on our own balcony, drinking coffee and watching them in the trees nearby was wonderful. We had a wonderful time here, and visited far too many places to list.”

    • “A perfect place for two. In an ideal, quiet, secluded location, well laid out and well furnished with everything you could possibly need. A little gem!”

Mr Mclaren, South Shields, November 2015

    • “We loved the peace and quiet of the forest setting, especially the bird songs. Its a lovely tiny cottage and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners.”

    Mrs Jenkin, Junortoun, May 2015

    • “The whole area was beautiful, but what we loved about Squirrel Lodge was because its perfectly suited for what we wanted! A cosy cabin built for two. It was warm and inviting and the owners were beyond wonderful. Always pleasant and helpful no matter what we needed. The location is perfect! It is close enough to Inverness that you can get food/supplies easily and even have a city night whenever you felt like it. But it is also far enough out to have the seclusion out amongst nature that we were looking for. Squirrel Lodge is centralized to a lot of historical sites and other tourist spots so if that is what you're looking for, you can easily get there. There was just so much that was so wonderful that I don't know where to start and could go on forever. I have and will continue to recommend Squirrel Lodge to anyone I know who is looking for a place in Scotland!”

Mr Culver, Valley Glen, March 2015

    • “From the moment we arrived at Squirrel Lodge we were warmly greeted by the owner, the accommodation was excellent and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. The setting for the Lodge is wonderful; peaceful and quiet. I would recommend Squirrel Lodge to anyone and will be visiting again.”

    Mr Hindley, Manchester, January 2015

    • “It was warm and welcoming and we felt at home, even though we were well away from home. We got on well with the owners and can't vouch highly enough for them and their hospitality.”

    Mr Wetherell, Stockton-on-Tees, December 2014

    • “The accommodation is absolutely faultless. Such a lovely space to relax and has everything you could possibly need! The surrounding area has endless things to do and we really really enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be returning. The owners are so welcoming and lovely. Overall, cannot fault it. Perfect.”

    • “An amazing little cottage beautifully presented and well kept. It is situated in a very beautiful part of Scotland bit a car is required for easy access to places of interest. The owner was a great help and could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible.”

About the location

Nairn 7 miles; Inverness 10 miles; Inverness Airport 3 miles.

Croy is a small village overlooking the Moray Firth, in the Highland region of Scotland between Nairn and Inverness. Just a mile from Croy is Kilravock Castle, which has been the seat of the Clan Rose since the 15th century. Nairn is seven miles away and is an attractive, lively seaside town dating back to Victorian times. It has long been a popular holiday destination and is just 16 miles from the Millennium city of Inverness. Nairn even lays claim to being one of the driest and sunniest places in the country! The town offers some of the top beaches in Scotland and the cleanest bathing waters in Britain. Also, one of the only two dolphin colonies in the UK is based in the Moray Firth. Nairn is steeped in history and closely linked with the Battle of Culloden, whilst nearby Fort George is Europe’s best-preserved 18th century military fortification. Golfing enthusiasts will be attracted to the three 18-hole championship courses, including the Nairn Golf Club which staged the Walker Cup in 1999, and Castle Stuart which has hosted the Scottish Open.
