  • "We have been using Sykes Cottages for many years now and this was."

by far, one of the very finest that we have used. Impeccably furnished, spotlessly clean and we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. Our hosts were helpful and offered local guidance plus recommendations. If you are looking to explore The Highlands, then I would strongly recommend this as a base.

Big thank you to the owners.

  • "The house is well situated between Nairn and Inverness, with a lot of activities in the area nearby."

The balcony made our stay even better than we had expected, as it is a very sunny spot to rest and to eat. There is not much in Croy itself but you don't have to go far to find culture, lovely beaches, history, good restaurants, lovely walks. Definitely a great area to explore. The house was very well equipped.

When you read about, looks a house only for you with garden, but, you get the first floor ( owners downstairs) and you can't go to the garden only you can see from the balcony too many things in everywhere ( decoration), there is not washing machine, there is not dishwasher, there is not kitchen extractor something basic for this type of places the mattress no really good you fall down to the side too expensive for what it is, never I would choose again

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to say it would appear you did not read the description accurately as is it explained in the description what to expect. I am unsure how you had an issue with the mattress. I am sorry you did not find the property suitable. Kind regards Property Owner

Very nicely located, tastefully decorated, high-quality property. It also had a terrace with stunning views of the Scottish north coast; the same view from the bedroom and living room also. We'd love to return to this cottage again for a holiday.

The property

This charming, bright and spacious first floor apartment with private entrance provides comfortable and welcoming accommodation in the pretty highland village of Croy.

With the owners living on the ground floor, the accommodation is all set on the upstairs on the first floor and guests will appreciate the thoughtful attention to detail and tasteful presentation.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, this apartment would be ideal for a group of friends, couples or a small family who will enjoy exploring the fabulous highlands of Scotland.

There are two generous bedrooms in the apartment, including one benefiting from an en-suite shower room.

There is also a smart family bathroom and a sunny open plan living area with a very well-equipped kitchen/dining area, and a generous seating area with an external door leading out to a large balcony.

From the balcony there are wonderful, far-reaching views across open fields to the Moray Firth Coast, making this a perfect spot to enjoy alfresco dining on a summer’s evening.

Croy is a great location for touring the area and the beaches at the nearby town of Nairn are simply perfect and go on for miles!

However, for those wishing to explore further afield why not venture along the north east coast and visit the many fishing villages along the dramatic Moray Firth coastline.

Or travel inland and follow the Malt Whisky Trail with its many distilleries, with visitor centres and of course tasting!

The capital town of the Highlands, Inverness, is just 10 miles away and this vibrant city has top-notch restaurants and an excellent theatre.

Whatever you do and wherever you go, it will be a joy to return to the absolute comfort of your wonderful holiday apartment.

About the location

CROY

Nairn 7 miles; Inverness 10 miles; Inverness Airport 3 miles.

Croy is a small village overlooking the Moray Firth, in the Highland region of Scotland between Nairn and Inverness. Just a mile from Croy is Kilravock Castle, which has been the seat of the Clan Rose since the 15th century. Nairn is seven miles away and is an attractive, lively seaside town dating back to Victorian times. It has long been a popular holiday destination and is just 16 miles from the Millennium city of Inverness. Nairn even lays claim to being one of the driest and sunniest places in the country! The town offers some of the top beaches in Scotland and the cleanest bathing waters in Britain. Also, one of the only two dolphin colonies in the UK is based in the Moray Firth. Nairn is steeped in history and closely linked with the Battle of Culloden, whilst nearby Fort George is Europe’s best-preserved 18th century military fortification. Golfing enthusiasts will be attracted to the three 18-hole championship courses, including the Nairn Golf Club which staged the Walker Cup in 1999, and Castle Stuart which has hosted the Scottish Open.
