Moriston Lodges

Invermoriston 2.5 miles. Set in a group of three purpose-built holiday lodges, these delightful properties offer superb ground floor accommodation in a small hamlet close to the village of Invermoriston, just above the south banks of the famous Loch Ness. The lodges are set on the banks of the Moriston River, and are well positioned to take full advantage of the views over the fast-flowing river and wooded hills. Each property has a bright open plan living area, as well as a private patio with picnic bench and shared use of the large grounds and trampoline, ideal for children. There is superb trout fishing from the property, and this is included in the price, making a holiday at one of the Moriston Lodges the perfect opportunity for beginners to have a go at the art of angling. The area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise, with superb walking, cycling, fishing and clay pigeon shooting on hand. An ideal base to tour the Highlands, Skye and the West Coast, there are many places of historic and scenic interest nearby, including Eilan Donan Castle. Bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts could spot pine martens, herons and deer in the vicinity - and maybe even the Loch Ness Monster!

Lovely single-storey lodge in a rural hamlet 2.5 miles from Invermoriston. Patio with river and hillside views, comfortable well equipped open plan accommodation. Note: This property is next to Refs. 2514 and 904631, together they sleep 12.

Invermoriston

Inverness 28 miles.

The small village of Invermoriston is situated just above the south end of Loch Ness, in the heart of the Great Glen. The village is famous for St. Columba's Well, and offers regular events including ceilidh nights in the village hall. The 73-mile long walking path, The Great Glen Way, passes through the village, and is just one of the many trails and walks awaiting visitors to this peaceful spot. Following the main road close to the village takes you to the mystical Isle of Skye, or of course you could stay closer to home and do some monster-spotting, visit the impressive ruins of the 16th century castle Urquhart, or enjoy the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre.The Caledonian Canal runs to Fort Augustus, offering lovely canalside walks. The perfect location for the whole family.
