An ideal base to tour the Highlands, Skye and the West Coast, there are many places of historic and scenic interest nearby, including Eilan Donan Castle. Bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts could spot pine martens, herons and deer in the vicinity - and maybe even the Loch Ness Monster!

The small village of Invermoriston is situated just above the south end of Loch Ness, in the heart of the Great Glen. The village is famous for St. Columba's Well, and offers regular events including ceilidh nights in the village hall. The 73-mile long walking path, The Great Glen Way, passes through the village, and is just one of the many trails and walks awaiting visitors to this peaceful spot. Following the main road close to the village takes you to the mystical Isle of Skye, or of course you could stay closer to home and do some monster-spotting, visit the impressive ruins of the 16th century castle Urquhart, or enjoy the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre.The Caledonian Canal runs to Fort Augustus, offering lovely canalside walks.
