  • "This cottage is absolutely beautifull, it comes equipped with all the things you may need."

We really liked having the log fire after a long wet day, and the house is very welcoming for the dog.

Thank you Brodie for your lovely review, I’m so delighted you enjoyed your week despite the mixed bag of weather. Stoneywood is indeed a cozy cottage when it’s cold outside. Thank you for being an excellent guest, Welcome back anytime! Best wishes Hester Property Owner

The cottage itself is in a very good condition and offers every comfort. A welcome package is provided and includes some dog treats - Marlon dog was very pleased. We also got lots of holiday information and some helpful tips from the owner on where to go and what to see. The parking is a bit tight, but manageable. Brilliant stay in drumnadrochit.

There was everything you could want in a holiday. places to visit and pubs near by.Shops are only a short walk away in the village. Thank you for our welcome pack and even milk in the fridge. The bed was so comfortable after a busy day exploring. The only draw back was the bathroom was down stairs and the parking was a little bit tight at the back of the cottage other then that we had a brilliant time in Drumnadrochit.

The cottage has a load of character, but with enough modern home comforts to make for a great place to stay. Some little details really made us feel at home, and sitting around the fire was fantastic when the weather turned outside. The parking is a little tight, we were pleased we didn't have our van with us! There are some nice walks rights from the cottage, and we did a hill day from Glen Affric which was pretty close too. The food in the Loch Ness Inn over the road was awesome as well! All in all a great long weekend

Stonywood Cottage was a perfect choice for a couple with the dog. Our host made us feel very welcome - starting with a welcome call before arrival explaining everything about the cottage, local shops, tourist attractions. We stayed at Stonywood in the middle of November - the cottage was spotlessly clean and ready hours before check-in time - in case we arrived earlier (which was the case - thank you!). There is everything you might need at the cottage during your stay. Positively surprised with Netflix account available for guests - there is plenty do do around the cottage but it felt like ‚at home’ when we sat down on the sofa in the evening, with a glass of wine watching favourite series. We would highly recommend staying here for your holiday in Scotland! No sign of Nessie in Nov 2021 - keep looking!! :)

It ticked all of my boxes and expectations. The cottage had everything that we needed and the owners were so helpful and accommodating in ensuring we had a lovely time. A welcome hamper was left for us with a bottle of wine, very thoughtful. We were so close to Loch Ness, Fort William and we had a lovely relaxing time in the cottage as well as seeing all the sights. It was out of season when we went but we actually preferred that as it wasn’t busy with tourists so we could leisurely travel and view the areas and a plus the weather was sunny with a chill in the air. The only very small negative was that the drive is at the back of the house and if you have a big car (which we do a large 4 x 4) then you could struggle to get it in the space, however the neighbour in the corner was lovely and said that we could park our car on his driveway each night, I mean how generous is that. Lovely cosy cottage, lovely owners, beautiful inside and out and exceptionally lovely, helpful neighbours. I would highly recommend hiring this cottage if you just want to get away and see the Scottish Highlands and of course Nessie :)
