  • "No information on how anything worked in the property!"

No information on local amenities eg doctors, vet or info on locality in general. We are regular self caterers, several times a year, and have never experienced this before. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Pillows were very thin, flat and stained and urgently need replacing. This was apparently reported in June 2022! The bedding (duvets) were old, dirty, ripped and in need of urgent replacement - I took photos of bedding on my single bed. Friend slept in the double bedroom and there was a tacky stain on mattress and sloping mattress was uncomfortable - again mentioned in May 2021 review. Only knew about drier being in shed from a previous on line review and shed floor was dirty. No laundry basket. No hairdryer provided. Fortunately we had brought our own. A hairdryer is a must have item! Red stains on chairs in kitchen (possibly blood)? Toilet brush was disgusting (photo taken). Back gate on wrong way around - bolt and catch on the outside which was very strange. Gate only opened part way. Lounge was comfortable - best part of bungalow! I’m surprised that a company such as Sykes would be associated with such low standards, particularly bearing in mind previous reviews. Are no independent inspections ever carried out by Sykes? Overall, we were extremely disappointed.

  • "Fantastic holiday property, perfect base to explore the highlands."

The property was clean, warm and comfortable ,plus located in a peaceful location with a beach and pub at the end of the road! Only issue, we didn’t notice a welcome pack, so we had to undertake our own research to find activities, places to visit etc nearby. Other than that I would highly recommend a stay at Braemer cottage!!

  • "We enjoyed our stay and will most likely be back."

Just a few suggestions for improvements, the decking needs cleaning as very slippy when wet. The electrics need sorting as shorted twice when various items were on together. The dryer needs upgrading and putting on a clean floor or laundry basket providing as if clothes fall on the shed floor it's dirty. Netflix wouldnt work as someone had been left signed in. Apart from those, it's warm, comfortable and very well placed, we enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend.

  • "This is the third time we have visited Braemar Cottage and we really love it there."

The cottage has everything you need 2 large TV's DVD player and DVD's . Comfortable seating. The cottage was clean and well kept hence our return visits. The garden is secure for out setters with a nice grass area for them. the outdoor furniture is looking a little tired as is the decking area nothing a paint wouldn't fix. I love sitting in the conservatory nice peaceful area. We will be back again for visit number four. The area is good lots of beach walks as well as lots of forestry walks too. We did a lot of exploring lots of interesting places to go and things to see. The Inver Inn 2 mins walk serves nice food book as it is always busy. And if you visit with your dogs visit Highland Hounds dog run free in Dingwall it is amazing 1 acre field and tea and coffee facilities best run free I have ever been too, immaculately clean.

  • "Stayed here May 2023,the weather could have been kinder but that’s Scotland."

The cottage was lovely & warm in fact we had to turn heating off. The kitchen was fully equipped, the only thing missing was a hairdryer but on contacting the owner she kindly delivered one the next day.The Inver Inn was just two minutes walk away & can thoroughly recommend for eating. Lovely coastal walks & a good base for visiting places of interest. Would recommend staying at the Braemar.

Thank you for great feedback . Found hairdryer on top of wardrobe . How it got there, I have no idea . Property Owner

  • "We visited this cottage in March and loved it so we returned in October."

It provides everything you need has nice large Televisions and all modern appliances. The garden is secure for dogs and has a large conservatory at the back. The double mattress was comfy but rolling at the edges I cannot comment on the single beds. The cottage is ideally situated for superb walks and lots of interesting places to explore. Only small niggle and a bit of juggling on my part there is far too much crockery and useless kitchen items leaving limited space for food items..but I would highly recommend this wee jewel and we intend to return next year

Actually it was even better than we expected. We didn't like the location. Inver doesn't even have a grocery. But if you like very small, very quiet villages, then you should book Braemar Cottage.

  • "The cottage inside was excellent, spotlessly clean and very comfortable."

The owner needs to leave some information about the area, doctors, vets, pharmacist etc and places of interest. The garden was very dissapointing, smaller than expected,no colour and the only view we had was of a 6 foot fence. The gate that led into the garden only opened so far then the bottom of the gate hit the floor,on entering one day i cut my arm on the gate, only superficial but could have been worse.I would not stay there again .

  • "We largely enjoyed our stay at Braemar Cottage; although we had a few issues."

One of the single beds in the twin room, had a duff mattress and the toilet seat had a tenancy to work loose all the time. However, the heating was really good and although the weather was cold we made good use of the conservatory. The garden was completely secure for our dog and there were easy short to long walks, direct from the property to the shore or Portmahomack if you are feeling fit. Overall the lounge was really comfortable and with the additional fire if it was considerably cold.

The location was perfect for heading out to explore the east coast of Scotland and a short distance from the pretty village of Tain and all of the facilities there. Inver is such a quiet wee place and there is absolutely no traffic noise at all - sheer bliss! Dornoch Beach, just up the road is a safe swimming beach and Portmahomack is lovely too. And there are so many great walks to do throughout the region. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable and we loved sitting in the conservatory out the back for breakfast and in the evening when we returned from the beach; it was a real sun trap! It has a lovely little dog friendly yard, fully fenced and enclosed. We had a fabulous time and cannot wait to head north again.
