Lying on the north bank of the River Beauly, just 12 miles west of Inverness, the village of Beauly is situated at the very heart of the Highlands. An excellent location for touring, the village is within easy reach of Loch Ness, the ancient Caledonian pine forests of Glen Affric and Strathfarrar and the coast (sandy beaches 8 miles). The name Beauly comes from the French “beau lieu” or “beautiful place” and the village prides itself on being both scenic and well-kept, having won both Scotland and Britain in Bloom titles. One of Beauly's highlights is the ruined 13th Century priory, around which the village was built. Today the village is famous for its craft-based industries and offers an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. With some of the best scenery the Highlands has to offer just on the doorstep, Beauly makes an excellent holiday base!

Previous visitors' comments about Kilmorack:
The view from the property across the Firth was the best thing. The property was very clean and well equipped with bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery and other cooking and kitchen equipment.

Lovely cottage and very nice owners. It was ideal for the children as it is well off the main road. The view from the cottage is fantastic, we could see for miles. It is a great spot for touring the area. Beauly is a lovely village with every thing we needed for the week.
Mrs Robertson, Shetland, July 2011
We loved everything about this property and loved the village of Beauly which is a short walk away. Owners live next door and were more than happy to help us and come down to Beauly to escort us to the property. They gave us some advice about various aspects of Beauly.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to others. Thanks again Sykes.

This was the second time we had stayed at this property and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
