Ken & Theresa are very welcoming and were in contact with us through out our holiday. Theresa knocked the door to let us know that the Northern lights were out. Which was a lovely thing to see and tick of our bucket list. It was lovely coming back to the sauna & hot tub after a cold day out. And we are already looking forward to returning for our next visit.

The Hot tub so lovely to relax in & a comfortable bed to sleep in at end of day’s sightseeing. Cleanliness second to none!!! On arrival we were greeted by Ken, a very warm friendly man, unfortunately we didn’t meet Theresa , but did communicate before our holiday, which was very helpful & informative, recommended few places to see & as everything went smoothly in the house we didn’t need to bother them. We were left a lovely welcome pack which was appreciated. The garden was beautiful, pity it wasn’t summertime as I’m sure it’ll be a lovely garden to relax in! Our first visit to Scotland, absolutely stunningly beautiful country with gorgeous scenery, very friendly people, loved it , thinking of visiting ? then I’d highly suggest you book ‘little chestnut’ you won’t be disappointed.

In fact is one of the best properties we have stayed in. It was quiet, private and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was also immaculately clean which has not always been the case with a couple of previous properties we have stayed in. The added extras of the hot tub and sauna were very much enjoyed especially by our teenage son. The photos on Sykes do not do this place justice. We would definitely recommend and we hope to return very soon. It is a great base for exploring the Highlands. We have had a fabulous holiday. Thank you to Theresa & Ken for such a fabulous place.

Little Chestnut is immaculate and spacious. Everything is quality , even the crockery , pots and pans etc was of a really high standard. Muir of Ord is a great base for exploring the highlands and my husband enjoyed the nearby golf course and we all had a great time on a boat trip on Loch Ness .We went to book for next year but we just can’t afford the jump in price. Which is such a shame but understandable with the current situation .This year we paid £838.00 including booking fee, but the same week next year it will be £1369.00 which is just to much of a jump for us. We loved this place and are sad we wont be able to return because of how the price has jumped for all weeks. Otherwise we would have no hesitation in booking this property again

There simply isn't anything else to say about the place. If there is a down side(and this is purely a personal opinion) it's not remote enough there is nowhere to go for walks as your located in the village centre, and with exception of the thousands of geese flying overhead there is no wildlife full stop didn't even see a bird in the garden. If they were located a little more remotely I'd have booked for next October already. This apart the "little chestnut" is a little gem and to those of you who just want to relax get yourself booked in before it's to late you won't be disappointed 10/10 easily

The property

This most impressive and immaculately-presented semi-detached cottage is privately situated in the pretty village of Muir of Ord, just north of the Highland capital city Inverness.

Little Chestnut is set beside the owner’s home, but offers complete privacy to guests who wish to pamper themselves in this luxurious property.

The cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends who will not only appreciate the beauty of the area, but also the comfort, style and facilities in this property.

A tarmac driveway leads around to the front door and large parking area and you will be immediately impressed with the style and space both inside and out.

With great attention to detail, the owners have provided thoughtful extras to ensure guests want for nothing.

At ground floor level there is a sociable open plan kitchen/dining room that leads through to a sunny sitting room, a perfect place for family relaxation.

On the ground floor are a king-size double bedroom and contemporary shower room, with two further bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor.

The property simply oozes style and comfort, and just a few yards across the courtyard is a detached log cabin fitted out with a generously proportioned hot tub, a sauna and shower facilities.

Next door to the leisure suite is a fabulous BBQ hut where cooking on the large central fire will be an exciting experience and guests will certainly enjoy the ambience of the hut along with a glass of wine or two!

Muir of Ord has good local facilities, including a golf club, plus there are a number of clubs within a 20 mile radius.

There's also so much to see and do in this magnificent region.

A trip to Loch Ness for some monster spotting is always fun or perhaps try some pony trekking at the nearby stables.

Leaving Little Chestnut will be tough as this is a fabulous holiday home for all ages, but you can rest assured that you can always book to return next year!
