The Moy Estate, covering 25,000 acres, is set in delightful countryside within easy commuting distance of Inverness. Tomatin village lies 3 miles to the south, and has a friendly and active community, a village hall that is used for a number of social activities and a local shop. The village is perhaps best known for being the home of Tomatin whisky and the largest malt distillery in the world. Inverness, 11 miles to the north, has recently acquired the status of a city and has all the associated facilities including a modern shopping centre, theatre, cinemas, and a good selection of hotels and restaurants. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for recreational activities and a wide variety of rural pursuits with excellent fishing and shooting. Fishermen are particularly well catered for with the Rivers Spey, Findhorn, Nairn and Ness all within 20 minutes’ drive. Other activities include hill walking, "Munro bagging", all forms of country sports and golf, with a number of good courses within easy reach. Alternatively, visit Moray Firth, which is renowned for its favourable weather, dolphin spotting and good sailing at Findhorn.
