Portmahomack is a charming fishing village on the shores of the Dornoch Firth, an inlet of the Moray Firth, which offers superb views inland towards the Sutherland Mountains. The village has excellent local services including a village shop and post office, a hotel with pub, a cafe and a seafood restaurant. Portmahomack has a lovely white sandy beach with no strong currents making it ideal for water sports and bathing. The village is also home to the Tarbat Discovery Centre, an historic lighthouse and a 9 hole golf course. Nearby is the Royal Burgh of Tain which offers many facilities and is home to the famous Glenmorangie Distillery, well worth a visit! Portmahomack is an ideal base for touring the highlands with Inverness, the “Capital City of the Highlands”, just 45 miles to the south.

A comfortable detached ground floor cottage, located right on the water front in the picturesque fishing village of Portmahomack and benefiting from a beautiful sandy beach and stunning open sea views. There are three spacious bedrooms at this Portmahomack cottage, giving plenty of flexibility for a family holiday. The living accommodation at this Portmahomack cottage consists of a fitted kitchen and a comfy sitting area with a lovely square bay window housing the dining table, allowing guests to fully appreciate this superb location. Every comfort is provided for guests at this Portmahomack cottage, including a private patio area at the front which is an ideal spot to enjoy the sea views and partake in some alfresco dining. Just a short stroll from this Portmahomack cottage is the beach, which is gently shelving with no strong currents, offering lovely walks along the shore with plenty of opportunities for beach combing, whilst also in the village is a 9-hole golf course and a lighthouse. The village of Tain is just a 10 minute drive away and offers a wide selection of shops and dining out choices. The whole area has an abundance of wildlife and there are organised boat trips available to watch the dolphins and to spot some rare birds. A wonderful Portmahomack holiday cottage, all year round.
