Often compared to a Bavarian Mountain resort, the picturesque spa village of Strathpeffer owes its growth to the discovery of water springs during the 1700's, declared in 1819 to be the healthiest drinking water in Britain! The original Spa Pavilion has been magnificently restored after a period of disuse and now serves as a venue for a variety of events including concerts, dances, dramas and exhibitions. The former Victorian railway station, which in times past brought many visitors from near and far, has now been beautifully restored to house craft workers and their shops, whilst also being home to the Highland Museum of Childhood, a superb exhibition about childhood in the Highlands of Scotland. Sample the spring water in the restored Pump house (also a Tourist Information point), take a walk along a forest track, or enjoy the views from the nearby pictish hill fort at Knock Farril. Whatever you decide there's plenty on offer for all the family.

With the accommodation all on one level, this Strathpeffer cottage has two spacious bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room. The sitting room has comfy leather sofas and an open fire plus there is a sun room providing a quiet area to sit and relax whilst looking out over the pretty garden. At the front of the house is a large paved patio area complete with garden furniture to ensure that you make the most of the fabulous south-facing aspect of this Strathpeffer cottage. Strathpeffer has a lot to offer and there are wonderful walks, cycle paths and a golf course, plus the owners have provided a couple of bicycles for use by guests who want to go exploring - but bring your own helmet! The town will provide you with a choice of places to eat and drink, and you may even be able to hear the local pipe band playing in the evenings. Take some time to tour the highlands and enjoy the wonderful scenery and numerous outdoor activities that are on offer before returning to the comfort and peace of your lovely Strathpeffer cottage.
