Parking can be an issue especially now the local council taken up some of the spaces for electric vehicles. However it wouldn't stop us coming again and staying in this cottage

Information on parking in Alnmouth would have been helpful as it took a while to work out where and when we could park. Also, I appreciate space is an issue as far as bins are concerned but we didn't like not been able to recycle glass and plastic . Everything else was lovely.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Jackson Cottage."

It is in a fabulous location with sea views and just a few minutes walk from the beach. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The only downside is the lack of bins and no recycling facilities at all, so all waste has to be dispensed of in the public bin opposite the cottage which is a little strange and felt uncomfortable. If this could be changed then the cottage really would be ideal.

The photographs don’t do it justice. It was so warm, peaceful and comfortable. It was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect and I was able to buy everything I needed on the doorstep. The views from the cottage are stunning and it is the perfect base to explore Northumberland from. I’d return again in a heartbeat

The only problem was the disposing of our rubbish into the public litter bin across the street, which was rather embarrassing, but I do understand that there was nowhere to put a rubbish outside the cottage.

We never got to use the microwave ! Lovely place to be holed up in in Alnmouth in the recent cold spell . In these circumstances a more effective way of keeping the cold that came from the front door and hall up the staircase would be welcome . Loved watching the sea in all its moods from the bay window . We've stayed in many different places in Alnmouth over the years but this is one of the best !

Plenty of living space and ensuite for both bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and we even figured out the fancy oven! Alnmouth is well situated for walks and has a regular bus service to Alnwick and other East Coast towns if you wanted to spend the day out and not drive.

The cottage was well equipped but we would have appreciated more information about the fire, heating and other items, not just booklets provided with the items when purchased. We had to leave early as my wife was I’ll and we had no instructions for departure. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

The place is cozy, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The kitchen has everything we needed, and the sitting area has lots of touches to make your stay pleasant, even on a rainy day (we luckily did not have). Our favourite spot though was the window seat, with its views of the sea. We'll be back!

I loved sitting in the bay window with my coffee early morning and watch the sea. Alnmouth is a lovely village. Parking can be a problem in the main street as the majority of the cottages located on the street do not have parking, however; we always got parked somewhere, so a minor downside and it wouldn't put me off booking the cottage again at all

  • "The lack of any ventilation/windows in the back bedroom caused a dampish smell which was a shame since the new ensuite is beautiful."

We had hoped to invite daughter for a few days but that room ,for us, was not inviting. The sofas too are beginning to sag. Bed in front bedroom very comfortable. The parking was also a big issue. Alnmouth isVERY busy with day trippers - with cars. Unless we had designated parking space, we would not be likely to stay there in future.

The official booklet was there, but incomprehensible as so often - life's too short, especially on a one-week holiday, to pore over technical instructions when all you want to do is turn the oven on to a 'normal' temperature! And maybe some teabags to make a cup off tea on arrival. And perhaps a quick explanation about parking restrictions. A super place, and Alnmouth is absolutely lovely.

The cottage is very well equipped in both the living room and kitchen and the bed was very comfortable. This was by far the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. We loved the upside down accommodation and and will certainly miss eating breakfast whilst gazing out of the bay window down to the sea. Finding a parking place was challenging each evening but at least we could use the bus stop directly outside to unload and load at the beginning and end of our stay.

  • "The cottage is lovely - beautifully furnished, well equipped and very comfortable."

We loved the fact that you get a sea view from the bay window and there is a wndow seat! As our stay was during covid restrictions, we were very confident with the arrangements in place for a safe stay. Parking can be difficult in Alnmouth and you need to be prepared to drive around looking for a parking space (which are free), but there is a very convenient bus stop outside the cottage for drop off/pick up purposes. If you are planning to eat out, especially in Alnmouth itself, I would strongly suggest booking at least a couple of weeks in advance, same for any places you might want to visit.

My wife and I were slightly anxious this time around, given the prevailing Covid-19 conditions, however, the owner put our minds at ease with all necessary precautions in place. We also appreciated the owner's guidance by way of a pre-arrival email along with an extensive list of local and not so local 'Places To Eat'. One final point; we had a spot of bother with a cracked toilet rim; however, the owner went above and beyond to have this replaced on the very same day, fantastic work. Hopefully, my wife and I will return to Jackson Cottage and Alnmouth in the not too distant future and in more settled times. Thank you for offering such superb accommodation. as a result we knew all about the first class facilities, which is why we were more than happy to book again this year. Everything about the cottage is first class. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, comfortable living room, excellent bathrooms, except the one bathroom has no shelves to store tooth brushes/soaps etc on. This however is a minor point given the excellence of the rest of cottage. The crowning glory is the upside down nature of the cottage, with the en-suite bedrooms being downstairs and the living room/kitchen upstairs, giving a lovely view of the sea. If we holidayed in the area again, we would certainly book again and would recommend it to our friends.

The cottage is surprisingly roomy, very comfortable and is well appointed with all the bits and pieces required for a home from home. From the seating in the bay-window one has great views of the street below and to Alnmouth beach beyond. Perhaps trivial to mention but it could be important to those with mobility issues; parking or more accurately the lack of a dedicated parking space could be a problem rather than a mere irritation for some people. This apart, we had a marvellous week at Jackson Cottage and it is a wonderful base for exploring the Northumbrian coast. Well recommended.

It has everything that one needs when on holiday. The attention to detail is second to none. We have stayed here before and I hope we will stay here again. The surrounding area is great for walking but also well served by local transport. The bus stops right outside the door and serves both North and South coastal towns. We were greeted by two pleasant surprises: first, that the cottage is more spacious and the decor less dated than the photos suggest (the sofas are plain beige now), and second, a Christmas tree. The village was a great place to spend Christmas: pretty (with great Christmas lights) and peaceful, but with some life to it: the beach was thronged with Boxing Day dog walkers and the shop and deli were open Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. We didn't have a car, so this was particularly welcome, as were the coastal walks on the doorstep and the good bus service along the coast and to Alnwick. I had a couple of niggles with Sykes but none with the cottage: we loved it, and hope to come back.
