    • “Extremely comfortable.”

    • “The cottage was extremely comfortable; very well presented; very well equipped; great welcome pack; friendly yet unobtrusive owners. We use Beal Cottage as a base to explore Northumberland. Visited Dunstanburgh Castle, The Alnwick Garden, Cragside, Bamburgh and LIndisfarne, Chillingham Wild Cattle, Ford and Etal. Barter Books in Alnwick ~ amazing book shop. Would certainly consider using Beal Cottage again because it suited our needs so well.”

    • “This is a beautiful bungalow, incredibly spacious with wonderful accommodation. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory and watching the birds! Warkworth is a great location with a secret weapon - a stunning beach. Access to Alnwick and Alnmouth as well as good facilities in Warkworth itself within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.”

    • “We have stayed elsewhere in Northumberland but consider Warkworth to be a really good location. The beach was a wonderful revelation and closeness to Alnmouth a bonus. The bungalow was open, light, airy and beautifully appointed. We particularly loved the conservatory and spent a lot of time out there watching the birds.”

    Miss Johnson, Rye, June 2014

    • “The location of the cottage was excellent for visiting all the attractions in the area or if you didn't want to travel far there is an unspoiled beach within a mile walk. The local village was acceptable for necessities and there are larger supermarkets within a few miles. We enjoyed our stay in Warkworth. We enjoyed our stay very much made even better by having excellent weather.”

About the location

Alnwick 5 miles; Alnmouth 3 miles.

Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
