Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore.

Alnmouth 2 miles. Short breaks available all year. Situated in a wonderful rural location on a working farm, this delightful stone-built cottage has been recently converted to a very high standard. The property has ‘upside–down’ accommodation to take advantage of the glorious views from the living area, which retains original exposed roof timbers and is reached by a spiral staircase. The ground floor bedroom has a lovely, romantic king size four poster bed, with en-suite Jacuzzi bath. Northumberland’s peaceful countryside and beautiful beaches are both within easy reach and only 2 miles away is the lovely coastal village of Alnmouth which provides a range of amenities. The owners live in the nearby farmhouse and personally welcome visitors. An ideal retreat for a relaxing and romantic break!

First floor open-plan living area with well-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area. Please note: The spiral staircase makes this property unsuitable for the infirm.

The location was excellent, overlooking the fields above Alnmouth and out to the sea. It was quiet and peaceful, and the owners were friendly, helpful but unobtrusive. It was within easy reach of a variety of interesting sites and walking areas. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and relaxing to be in.
