Location: Berwick-upon-tweed

Alnwick 35 miles; Holy Island 10 miles; Edinburgh 56 miles.

Berwick is England’s most northerly town and changed hands 13 times whilst the English and the Scots fought for control of the Borders! Nowadays this small coastal town retains much of its charm, with quaint narrow streets enclosed within great Elizabethan walls - walks along these offer spectacular views over the coast and river estuary. The town offers excellent amenities including shops/supermarkets, restaurants and pubs, whilst the Maltings Arts Centre provides an extensive programme of cultural events including music, theatre and cinema. Fishing, golf and riding are all available locally and there is a leisure centre in the town offering a pool with waves and flume. Two miles away is the seaside resort of Spittal, with its sandy beaches. Berwick has excellent public transport and there is a frequent train service to both Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Previous visitors' comments about Sea Breeze Cottage:

The cottage has been converted to a very high standard and is a credit to the owners, the views from the cottage are spectacular. There was also a welcome pack, a very nice surprise. 10 out of 10!
Mr Healeas, Leeds, October 2011

Great location with wonderful views. Easy access to the A1 enabling us to reach many local places easily. Overall one of the best cottages we have stayed over the last 24 years. Excellent value for money.
Mr Courts, Rayleigh, September 2011

Great location, we loved everything about this cottage. It's the best rental I have ever stayed in!
Mrs Tuckwell, Normanton, August 2011

The cottage was superb - spacious, well decorated and spotlessly clean. It is certainly the best equipped accommodation that we have ever rented and went way beyond our expectations. It is genuinely 5 minutes from the beach and very convenient for Berwick upon Tweed.
Mrs Allsobrook, Burton-on-Trent, August 2011
