Coldstream 5 miles; Duns 7 miles; Berwick-upon-Tweed 12 miles; Kelso 13 miles.

The village of Swinton has been a centre for rural activities since the 11th century, but was laid out as it is seen now in the 18th century. It is just 5 miles north of the town of Coldstream, which lies on the banks of one of the best salmon rivers in the country. 7 miles away, Duns was once the main town in the area, and has much history to offer. There are castles and stately homes throughout the Scottish Borders, and much to see and do including golf, fishing and walking. Just a short drive away is the east coast of Scotland with its beautiful beaches, while vibrant Edinburgh can be reached in one hour’s drive.

Previous visitors' comments about 4 Swinton Hill Farm Cottages:

Everything about this cottage is excellent! It is lovely throughout with lots of antique furniture to enhance its charm. The location is stunning and very peaceful. The Christmas tree was a great touch and the cosy nights in front of the fire with the family made this break perfect! I would definitely stop in this cottage again! 5*!

Warm, cosy, homely accommodation. Lovely countryside. Lots of places to visit. Very relaxing and everything as it should be. We've never stayed anywhere so well equipped. The owner was very helpful and informative.
