Coldstream 5 miles; Duns 7 miles; Berwick upon Tweed 12 miles; Kelso 13 miles.

The village of Swinton has been a centre for rural activities since the 11th Century, but was laid out as it is seen now in the 18th Century. It is just 5 miles north of the town of Coldstream, which lies on the banks of one of the best salmon rivers in the country. 7 miles away, Duns was once the main town in the area, and has much history to offer. There are castles and stately homes throughout the Scottish Borders, and much to see and do including golf, fishing and walking. Just a short drive away is the east coast of Scotland with its beautiful beaches, while vibrant Edinburgh can be reached in one hour’s drive.

Previous visitors' comments about 4 Swinton Hill Farm Cottages:

What an amazing break we had. The property was very well equipped and furnished. It's a hidden gem which we will almost certainly be visiting again. An excellent location, friendly neighbours and some lovely walks to do locally. The Christmas tree was a fantastic touch too and we were kept snug and warm by the awesome heating system and the wood burner on the cold frosty nights! Thanks for making our break a special one.

I like that it catered for children, I have two young children and had everything I needed and games for them too. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend.
Miss Smith, Edinburgh, October 2011

The caretaker could not do enough for us. I have stayed in many cottages, this one was by far the best, I would recommend it to anyone!
Mrs Rose, Hereford, September 2011

The location is in a very quiet and relaxing area. You can visit many sites of interest and its close to the coast. We will be returning.
