"Great location, great property"

We had a lovely stay here - enjoyed the roof garden, loved the friendly village and we were so convenient for lots of interesting holiday musts. Would come again for sure.

Tod, Todmorden, December 2009

Location: Coldstream

Cornhill on Tweed 2 miles.

Home to the famous Coldstream Guards, the pretty borders town of Coldstream sits on the northern bank of the River Tweed, and was once a rival to Gretna Green for runaway marriages. There is a museum dedicated to the Guards, a good selection of shops and pubs, or visitors can try their hand at a variety of activities, including fishing, golf, riding or walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The picturesque seat of The Earls of Home, including former Conservative Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Home, is The Hirsel, an estate to the west of the town with a fine mansion in beautiful grounds through which flow the Leet Waters, famous for a wide range of birds which nest there. With the Scottish borders and North Northumberland easily accessible, this is a fantastic base from which to make the most of the region.

Previous visitors' comments about Carriage House:

Location to the town centre was great. Lots of lovely walks in the area. The kitchen of the property was very well equipped. Main bathroom recently refurbished to good standard. Welcome basket on arrival was a pleasant surprise.
Mrs Drewett, Livingston, April 2010

Unusual property. Very good central heating. Bedrooms and beds were really warm and comfortable. Excellent walks from the property and its proximity to shops, pubs etc were much appreciated.
Mrs Barber, York, December 2009

The house was a very good base for exploring the area and there was plenty of room for both our families to hang out. The large kitchen was something we all liked and there was plenty of room for cooking big family meals.
Mrs Clarke, York, August 2009

The house was quirky and well equipped. The owner was very helpful with instructions on everything. The character of the house made it more interesting, especially the stairs! Good base for touring the area.
