About the location

Embleton

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has four village pubs, two of which serve food, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.

From Berwick to Alnwick beautiful scenery and much interesting history. Cottage was cosy, warm and comfortable - good to return to from the cold easterly wind.

Mr Edgar, Carlisle, March 2014

Embleton is a good base for seeing the surrounding area and beaches, the best of which is within walking distance. The garden is a lovely, safe place for children to play.

Mrs Allinson, Huddersfield, July 2013

The cottage was snug, clean and comfortable. The children loved being just opposite the excellent play area and the nearness to the beach was just what we wanted. A really enjoyable stay - thank you.

Miss Merckx, Richmond, December 2012

A lovely cottage, perfectly situated close to both hills and coast.

Mr Pine, Sheffield, October 2012
