  • "We had a lovely week at Fontburn House."

The welcome pack was fabulous. The house was warm and cheerful even in the foul weather. We would definitely recommend as a fine family remote getaway in beautiful Northumberland.

  • "A truly first class property, I would recommend it to everyone."

Beautiful setting, although when we were there Storm Gerrit was at its peak, but it did not stop walks to the reservoir! The house was beautifully decorated for our Christmas visit plus delicious hampers were a special touch. The rooms were cosy and warm and we certainly enjoyed the log fires in the evenings. It was the first time our immediate family had all been together for Christmas since my offspring were teenagers and the house helped make it a very special occasion for us all. Thank you so very much for enabling us to have a wonderful Christmas in your fantastic house.

The hamper was lovely and although the weather was quite wet we managed to get out and about. The children had a lot of fun helping the farmer move the sheep and watching the wildlife ,hoping to return one day .

  • "The house was really lovely ."

Beautiful spacious interiors with great outside space and loads of grass for the kids to charge around on. Such a stunning rural area to explore too with so many countryside and coastal attractions. The owners were very responsive to our queries and very kindly invited us to watch sheep shearing one morning which was most appreciated.

  • "We stayed at Fontburn farmhouse for a family gathering with x2 Grandparents and their x2 children each with their own families of x4 and a dog."

10 in total. X1 of the grandparents is disabled but using a wheelchair into and around the house was no problem. Ground floor bedroom and amenities were perfect. We couldn’t fault the property, exactly how advertised, very clean, very well equipped. It’s a lovely property in a beautiful spot, great for wildlife and star gazing. It was perfect for our needs and we were sad to go home. We all said we could live there inc the dog who loved the outside space! If I had to make improvements I d say move the dishwasher as being in the utility room, it was a bit of a pain ferrying dishes back and forth. On the upside of this it burned some calories and as it sleeps so many there were plenty of hands to help! My husband burnt his hand on the log burner door handle so maybe some heat proof gloves beside log burner would be good ( there may have been some hiding somewhere not obvious to us) He did say he should have known it would be hot but some handles are heat proof. We went back in March when it was colder but I have to say the underfloor heating was super! The log burner was fun ( despite the burn) but not necessary. Smashing stay would 100% come again. We looked to rebook for Aug but was fully booked. Excellent property, well maintained

  • "We had the most wonderful stay at Fontburn Farmhouse."

What a beautiful property it is! The location is stunning and surrounded by lovely countryside walks (especially the reservoir walk and play park. The house is perfectly equipped, all the things we could have needed were there. We were very grateful for the wonderful hamper of special foods for us. There is a lot of space. We were a group of 10, 6 adults and 4 young children. They loved having so much room to play and enjoy. The beds were ever so comfortable and it was amazing to open the curtains each day to the wildlife. We enjoyed a few clear skies too and the stars are spectacular. The owners couldn't do enough for us when we contacted them to extend our stay for one night. We were really impressed over all. We would absolutely come to Fontburn Farmhouse again.

House was well equipped and had everything we needed. Only slight issue was, it was a little hot for our liking in the kitchen area. It was our first time exploring this area of the UK but, om certain we'll be going again and would happily use this property again. Hadleigh

  • "An excellent property for a family gathering."

It is very well equipped, has beautiful linen, and we had a great week (helped by mainly very good weather). Having two separate lounge areas is good when there are different ages and interests in the group. The exterior photo on the website doesn't do the beauty of the site justice.

  • "Upon arrival we were most impressed as we turned into the property."

As soon as you walk through the front door you cannot fail to be impressed. It is well laid out and a great space to share with friends or family but also offers the chance of the quiet space if you want a bit of privacy. The house is finished to a very high standard and all equipment and utensils were top quality. There was even a very nice welcome hamper which was very well received. We had deer in the garden on more than one occasion which was a pleasant surprise. Communication with Jess was 1st class and couldn't be better. Would strongly recommend!!
