Main street and places to eat. Great to have off street parking. Location great for visiting places around. Only marked down as the fan to the fire very noisy, the cold tap in the bathroom leaks, as for accuracy of information the washer is just that and not a dryer as well

  • "Everything seems to have been thought of for the comfort and convenience of the holidaymaker."

As a solo traveller, I especially appreciated the excellent TV and Wi-Fi. The harbour is only a 3 minute walk away. Having off-road parking is great, though there would have been no problem finding nearby unrestricted street parking (maybe not in high season). Although the apartment is of modest size, it is bright and nicely presented and not overlooked. Amble is a good tourist centre with its own attractions around the busy harbour, not highly commercialised and tucked into a beautiful stretch of the coast. It is well worth taking advantage of the Sunday market at the harbour to stock up on food for the week.

Very comfortable and equipped, the property is in a great position for accessing the town, Harbour Village and the beach. Off road parking was a bonus too. We had a wonderful time and will be back!

  • "The bathroom fan was noisy."

The living room fire fan was noisy. The outside lights weren’t coming on automatically. The storage heating could do with an upgrade to make it more heat and energy efficient.

Many thanks for your comments As we are unable to access the property for a stay ourselves we cannot find out these problems unless customers advise us just as you have. I can certainly confirm to you that I will address these issues during our own weeks that we have booked over the next couple of months when property maintenance takes place. • "We enjoyed our stay."

The flat is comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent, only a short stroll from the harbour. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. It was also nice to have a private outside seating area at the back of the building. The previous occupants must have put a lot of dishes and glasses away which weren't clean. This of course is not the fault of the owner, who was pleasant and helpful during a phone call before our holiday. Our only issue really was the parking. It's good to have off road parking but two family cars did not fit easily into the space which was really quite tight. We parked on the road a couple of times but there is no guarantee of a space there. Overall we were happy our stay and would recommend the flat for a holiday in Amble.

Once up the steep staircase the apartment is light and bright, with everything you need to feel at home. A very comfortable bed helps you nod off happily. Very cosy at night, with the glow from the electric fire, and the storage heaters once mastered give out enough heat to keep you warm. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space to prepare a meal and chat. I'm a fuss pot when it comes to cleanliness and find with most cottages we stay I have to spend sometime cleaningon arrival, but it was not at all necessary here, it was exceptionally clean. We loved our stay and will most definitely book again. Heartily recommend.

  • "The apartment was perfect."

The living space was wonderful - the kitchen was well stocked with china, microwave and equipment for proper cooking, and the sofas were comfortable. The washing machine was brilliant and there was a dryer to hang wet clothes up. The wifi was reliable (essential with teens!), the TV set up was great and it really was like home from home. Everything was there to have a really relaxing stay. The beds were comfy and (as it was warm) we had the windows open at night - but were not disturbed by any noises. Lovely quiet and peaceful sleeping! There was also off road parking which made a big difference. The owner was very approachable, kind and helpful, especially when we accidentally left a coat at the property. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and would recommend this accommodation.

Parking was available, if a little tight on space for the two apartments. The location of the apartment was great, easy walk to the harbour area and the Main Street of amble. The apartment itself was comfortable and well presented. Plates and cutlery were all there but a bit of a mixed lot. Nice towels provided. The apartment was clean and nice and quiet. My only complaint was that the double bed was very uncomfortable and would benefit from a decent mattress. I had to sleep in one of the twin beds which were better. A welcome pack would have been useful too, explaining things. Overall a good apartment.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
