Superb cottage. Lovely area. As regular holiday cottage renters we recommend this cottage. Convenient for seaside and cheviot hills as well as border towns ( Kelso Jedburgh, Berwick. and others.) Good clean comfortable accommodation.
Wooler 2.5 miles.
The village of Doddington lies amid lovely countryside in north Northumberland, part of a ring of small communities that skirt the extensive Milfield Plain. Doddington sits northeast of Wooler and 13 miles southwest of Berwick-upon-Tweed, between two branches of a tributary that meander their way to join the larger Till. Today Doddington is enjoying a revival of fortune, due in part to the success of Doddington Dairy, which sells its cheeses and ice creams throughout the county. Just 2.5 miles away scenic Wooler attracts visitors to its beautiful walking country. Known locally as ‘The Gateway to The Cheviots’ it lies on a slope above the Wooler Water, in reach of the Northumberland National Park. The historic Alnwick Castle, the Heritage Coast and Holy Island are amongst a whole host of interesting places to discover in this wonderful area.
