Location: Doddington

Wooler 2.5 miles.

The village of Doddington lies amid lovely countryside in north Northumberland, part of a ring of small communities that skirt the extensive Milfield Plain. Doddington sits northeast of Wooler and 13 miles southwest of Berwick-upon-Tweed, between two branches of a tributary that meander their way to join the larger Till. Today Doddington is enjoying a revival of fortune, due in part to the success of Doddington Dairy, which sells its cheeses and ice creams throughout the county. Just 2.5 miles away scenic Wooler attracts visitors to its beautiful walking country. Known locally as ‘The Gateway to The Cheviots’ it lies on a slope above the Wooler Water, in reach of the Northumberland National Park. The historic Alnwick Castle, the Heritage Coast and Holy Island are amongst a whole host of interesting places to discover in this wonderful area.

Previous visitors' comments about Honeysuckle Cottage:

This cottage is a very comfortable, clean, light, yet homely place to be. It is very well-equipped and spacious. The peace and quiet of the location was especially appreciated.
Mr Townsend, Norwich, July 2011

A real home from home. Very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Kitchen equipment was excellent. Very thoughtfully equipped throughout - especially soap in bathroom/cloakroom, washing up liquid in kitchen. Everything was in kitchen drawers/cupboards that you would expect to find in your own kitchen - right down to sandwich boxes for packed lunches.
Mrs Silverman, Solihull, March 2011

Very nice location with a relaxed environment - the cottage was modern and stylish. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that part of the country.
Mr Morriss, Peterborough, September 2010

Close to many places of interest, but quiet setting too.
Mrs Brocken, Morecambe, August 2010
