Coldstream 5 miles; Duns 7 miles; Berwick-upon-Tweed 12 miles; Kelso 13 miles.
The village of Swinton has been a centre for rural activities since the 11th century, but was laid out as it is seen now in the 18th century. It is just 5 miles north of the town of Coldstream, which lies on the banks of one of the best salmon rivers in the country. 7 miles away, Duns was once the main town in the area, and has much history to offer. There are castles and stately homes throughout the Scottish Borders, and much to see and do including golf, fishing and walking. Just a short drive away is the east coast of Scotland with its beautiful beaches, while vibrant Edinburgh can be reached in one hour’s drive.

The cottage was about as perfect as you could get. I took my family there to celebrate my 50th birthday and we were overwhelmed by the quality and size of the cottage and the amazing countryside surrounding it. I wholeheartedly recommend this cottage to anyone. Best ever!
