About the location

Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore.

The cottage is situated in a pretty village where the locals could not have been more welcoming, which made our stay a very pleasant one and we will be returning soon. There were many good walks from the cottage, including into Alnmouth, which took approx 40 minutes as a gentle stroll, rewarded by an excellent Sunday lunch at The Sun Inn, accompanied by our dog, who was also made to feel welcome wherever we visited. We would highly recommend visiting this cottage.

Miss Walker, Bolton, March 2014

Stunning coastline, cleanest, best equipped cottage we have stayed in! Well worth the effort of going to Hope and Anchor pub in Alnmouth - good food at sensible prices!

Mr Webster, York, January 2014

Had a great time very relaxing and cottage excellent

Mrs Hodgson, Sheffield, December 2013

Northumberland is a fantastic area and Puffin Cottage was in the perfect location to explore the region. Best thing was the pub/restaurant up the road (Coach House). The cottage was really good.
