This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop and two pubs which serve food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket, restaurants etc as well as offering boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle & Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.

Several fabulous links golf courses and opportunities for watersports and sea fishing are all close by to this Beadnell cottage, as is the vibrant fishing village of Seahouses. The historic market town of Alnwick, with its magnificent Norman Castle and Gardens, is just a short distance away from this cottage in Beadnell, and makes for a lovely day out. This is the perfect Beadnell cottage base for a relaxing beach holiday, romantic break or for exploring further afield on Northumberland's magnificent Heritage Coast.

We lucked out on the weather for the week we were there. The property is ideally situated if you want to use it as a central base to visit places of interest in Northumberland. A beautiful area, rather windswept, but plenty of walks available, if that's your thing.
