  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Pringles Orchard."

This is an unique property, very spacious and comfortable (heated well, comfy beds, clean, well-equipped), with a huge, gorgeous garden to enjoy. This is a special place indeed! Expect to birdwatch, as well as glimpse horses over the creek. The garden has a large trampoline which was a treasured and unexpected find!! The owners were very kind to decorate the house for Christmas, leaving treats such as chocolates, biscuits and wine for us. Thank you! We highly recommend. Will and his family are lovely as well.

Spacious inside, lovely rooms, A large and comfortable conservatory with amazing views. The garden is beyond fantastic. It’s just enormous and so beautiful. The pond with the fish and frogs and the stream with the Kingfishers were an absolute joy. The children in our party just loved it all. I can’t recommend this property highly enough for all the family to enjoy. We will definitely hope to come back one day.

Thank you so much for your kind words about Pringles Orchard, we are so glad you had a fab stay and the children enjoyed themselves. It would be great to see you all again sometime. Liz Property Owner

We loved the fact that it was furnished to complement the age and style of the cottage. Having said that the kitchen and bathroom were very well appointed and equipped. The cottage was beautifully warm. We didn’t need the log burner but everything was there if he had. The garden was fabulous with the pond and stream and lots of wildlife. It was on the main road so easy walking to the very good pub(s) but set well back so it was perfectly quiet and peaceful. Lovely.

Very comfortable, peaceful and tranquil. Relaxing conservatory with all round view of the orchard. We were allowed to pick any ripe fruit we wanted, apples, pears and plums, and explore the garden and orchard at our leisure. The owner was very helpful and friendly. It is an excellent base for Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, Hardwick Hall and the fringes of Derbyshire too.

  • "This was a fantastic place to stay which was well located for us."

The host was very accommodating with our needs and was very happy to allow us to meet up with our family that were all local to the area. We will definitely book again and only have one negative which would be just one bathroom upstairs. This was accurately described and was fine but with the size of the property and with older guests a toilet downstairs would be a great asset.

  • "We would highly recommend Pringles Cottage as we had a really lovely stay there this week."

Close to the village church, pubs, fish and chip shop and with lovely walks close by, the house is set in the lovely village of Carlton-in-Lindrick. The hosts are extremely generous in terms of the facilities available in the house. They provided some very useful provisions (milk, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits) as well as a good range of household products (tin foil, cling film, cleaners, dishwashing equipment). The house is quaint, clean and well kept. It’s a fabulous house with a good range of bedrooms (single, double, family room and attic space). The kitchen is very well equipped. The conservatory is a great space with a range of books, quizzes and games along with comfortable chairs as well as a second dining table. There’s plenty to keep people occupied. The gardens are absolutely fantastic…very well kept and a superb space that the hosts actively encouraged us to explore and use. The host was very kind, allowing our friends to visit us at the property and showing us various parts of the garden. Thank you for making us all feel so very welcome.

  • "A splendid property with a fantastic garden (that we barely explored, sadly)."

In fact, to call it a garden does it a disservice. We had five people staying and at times access to the bathroom was a bit of a lottery. We were also a lot happier once we found the portable thermostat. Other than that, the place was just what we were looking for with plenty of table space in three different areas (dining room, conservatory, patio). The pub around the corner - The Grey Horses - is warmly recommended.

It's also easy to walk from the house in the surrounding countryside. The owner was next door and always helpful. My only reservation is that the location has poor phone signal and the WIFI connection was not reliable, so it was often hard to make calls or contact the outside world.

  • "What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy family time."

The house itself is spacious and well equipped with everything you need for a holiday. A good sized fridge and freezer and plenty of pots, trays and crockery. Comfy sofas and chairs in the lounge. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and decent blinds and curtains to block out the light. We spent most of our time in the large, bright conservatory or patio, both of which overlook the most amazing, extensive gardens. Lovely watching the squirrels and birds playing around. The property is down a long driveway and the gardens are at the back of the house, making it really tranquil. There's several benches dotted around the garden and so much space to play. Will, the host, was really helpful, friendly and accommodating. He gave us ideas on bike rides and we had a good laugh chatting with him, but he didn't intrude in any way. We didn't want to come home, so Yes! we would definitely recommend this place.

  • "The pictures do not do this holiday home credit."

It is a large house and the garden is MASSIVE. I am so glad we booked. We spent 5 nights here with our 4 children and could happily have stayed another 5. We were so sad to leave. The property itself is dated but that is part of the charm. It was so clean and had everything we needed. We all commented on how comfy the beds and bedding were. There is a stream running along the bottom of the garden which the kids loved - along with the trampoline, swing and tyre swing. We watched the squirrels, moor hens with chicks and even a heron catching fish in the pond while having our meals. We had a day at Clumber Park and a day at Sherwood, highly recommend Forest Pines for bike hire. The whole break was just perfect and exactly what we needed after being relatively housebound for the last few months. Thank you, Will and Liz.

About the location

CARLTON-IN-LINDRICK

Worksop 3 miles; Tickhill 6 miles; Sherwood Frest 13 miles; Lincoln 33 miles.

Carlton-in-Lindrick is a village in Nottinghamshire, approximately three miles north of Worksop. The village has a selection of shops and pubs, including the Blue Bell and the Grey Horses Inn, so you have all the essentials on hand for your time away. Featured in the Domesday Book, the village has links to Saxon times and the local church bears testament to this. The 'Devil Stone' stands outside the church and is the subject of many local legends. Apart from the usual village craftsmen, Carlton-in-Lindrick had a bike making and repairing business, built up by Mr Fred Hanstock. It eventually became Carlton Cycles, until it was taken over by Raleigh. The village is a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding countryside, situated a short drive from the Peak District National Park and less than half an hour from Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park. The 450-acre Sherwood Forest was once a royal hunting forest and home to the legendary outlaw, Robin Hood. Now, it is home to some of the oldest trees in Europe and a wonderful destination for a family day out, woven with marked trails suitable for all ages, and filled with an abundant variety of birdlife. The National Trust’s Clumber Park is set over 3800 acres and was once the country estate of the Duke of Nottinghamshire. Hire a bike, enjoy a leisurely stroll, or visit the Discovery Centre to learn about the variety of wildlife that call this scenic stretch of park, heath and woodland home. There are also a selection of cafes on the site, as well as a gift shop, a plant shop and a second hand bookshop. With such wonderful things to see and do in this delightful slice of the country, Carlton-in-Lindrick is perfect for a holiday at any time of year.
