    • “Hen Weekend Heaven”

    • “I booked the school house for a long weekend for a group of 10 girls for my hen party. The cottage and garden are absolutely lovely, the photos don't do it justice. It was perfect for what I had in mind- having BBQs and lazy days in the garden. I suppose it wasn't great for local amenities as you definitely needed a car to get anywhere (crucially no pub within walking distance) but that didn't matter to us. We took our own drinks and played games and read in the sun and for that it was perfect.”

    • “Great cottage, we went with all the family from teenagers up to octogenarians and a dog. layout was good as the youngsters could escape. lots to do in the area. enjoyed Golf practice on the paddock, dog enclosed garden, log fire at night. but mostly thought the guest book was the best one we have ever read, it fair made the holiday!”

    • “The website for Sykes cottages had some different information given to the folder in the cottage when we arrived. Some co-ordination needed as to what is the correct information. Some problems of maintenance when we were there which were fixed within 2 hours of complaint so top marks there. A great location close to shops in Leek and lots of plces to visit. By saying pets they only mean dogs.”

    • “Lovely house and Location”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “The house and location were lovely - we were having a family reunion and wanted to visit alton Towers. Main downside was the lack of bathrooms - one en-suite and one bathroom for all the bedrooms - we had queues every morning. Similarly only two of the bedrooms were doubles which meant couples were in twin rooms sometimes on a different level! Other than that the reception kitchen / dining areas were perfect - lots of space and seats so everyone could sit together. Don't forget to take a supply of matches although the service station sold most things!”

    • “lovely area , beautiful cottage not high spec . but loved it . Quite a noisy cottage ... sound of young children travelled . Had a problem with heating and downstairs loo. Tried to contact emergency number not available so we fixed it ourselves...bins were overflowing from previous letting. we had a great family week . the accomadate on helped but was marred on first night by downstairs toilet flood and central heating keeping cutting out . and inability to contact anyone .”

    • “Homely, comfortable with plenty of space.”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “The cottage was true to itd desciption in every respect. There were 12 in our party including children and apart from getting everyone around the dining table we had plenty of space, with room for kids and adults alike to escape to! Only slight niggle was the oven door not catching properly and a tendency for the range cooker to trip the earth trip when under full sunday lunch duties.”

    • “We had a great time, the cottage was great, really spacious and homely. In a really nice setting and with easy access to Leek - we walked into Leek and it took about 45 minutes - nice walk too. The jacuzzi was great fun, it was up and running for when we arrived on the Friday.”

    • “The hot tub and layout were great, generally a lovely cottage.”

    Miss Gainey, London, April 2015

    • “We had a wonderful time and the property was great for a family of twelve which included four little boys aged between two and six and a dog. The boys loved exploring upstairs which was ideal for going from one bedroom to another. Another good point, there was a large car park at the rear of the property where the boys could ride their bikes and scooters. In fact they didn't want to leave.”

    Mrs Squires, Coventry, April 2015
