Location: Cheddleton

Leek 3.5 miles.

The lovely Staffordshire village of Cheddleton is situated in the Staffordshire Moorlands, near to the market town of Leek. This traditional village has a handful of shops, a Post Office, food pubs and a lovely restaurant. Visit the nearby Churnet Valley Railway, originally opened in 1849 and now a lovely attraction for steam enthusiasts and families alike. Cheddleton Flint Mill is a prime example of Staffordshire's industrial past – a flint grinding watermill previously used for supplying the pottery industry further along the canal in Stoke on Trent. Nearby is the market town of Leek, surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture - a reminder of the town’s prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, bookshops and galleries and there is good selection of restaurants and real ale pubs. Alton Towers is less than 15 minutes drive away. Throw in the mix of walks, cycle routes, rock climbing on the Roaches and the wealth of historic houses, visitors will be returning again and again!

Wonderful, looking forward to coming back.
Mr Jones, Isle of Skye, November 2012

The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well furnished. It was also very quiet. We feel that the description of the property does not do it justice.
Mr Hughes, Hassocks, October 2012

The owner met us and showed us around, she even had a card, bubbly and chocolates to congratulate us on our marriage! The furnishings were beautiful and in keeping with the building. Everything was clean and comfortable. The apartment is in an amazing building with stunning surroundings.
Mrs Viggers, Plymouth, August 2012

A wonderful apartment with lots of new places to visit. Very peaceful and comfortable. We will come again to see more.
