The High Peak hamlet of Rowarth is set amidst lovely countryside on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and offers much in the way of walking. There is access from the hamlet directly up onto Kinder Scout via an ancient track, along with many moorland paths and the opportunity to join up with the Pennine Way. Cyclists are also well catered for, with National Cycle Route 83 running past. Rowarth has a family friendly pub, The Little Mill, which offers good food, a childrens play area, an award-winning restored mill wheel and a lovely riverside terrace. With the rest of the Peak District National Park within easy reach, the market towns of Buxton and Bakewell a short drive, and a variety of historic houses, pretty villages, Alton Towers theme park and much more in the area, this is a great Peak District base.

The location of the property was perfect for our needs. There was a warm welcome from the owner, even though we were late arriving. The roaring fire was much appreciated on a cold evening.

This is my second visit to this lovely, homely and cosy cottage, whose kind and helpful owners have thought of everything and more to make the stay a comfortable one. It is situated in a quiet and peaceful setting, with easy access to the beautiful surrounding countryside, nearby towns and villages, perfect for long walks with my dog and visiting friends and family! The added bonus is a great pub just over the road, serving excellent food. A wonderful escape!
