Edlaston is a lovely rural hamlet just 3 miles from the beautiful market town of Ashbourne. Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of a Derbyshire market town - there is a market place with stalls, an eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th Century, the town was a fashionable social centre and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don't expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by. Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.

To the outside of this Edlaston cottage are beautiful, mature gardens, where you can relax in the evening sun and plan the following day's activities. From the doorstep of this Peak District cottage are a number of excellent footpaths or you can spend a day visiting the National Trust's Sudbury Hall and Calke Abbey. The market town of Ashbourne is just three miles away from this Edlaston cottage and has a range of interesting antique shops and traditional coaching inns, whilst the thrilling rides of Alton Towers can tempt the adventurous amongst you.
