Parwich is a lovely old village surrounded by verdant green countryside, boasting a delightful country pub set on the village green, a church, a village hall, a playground and many pretty cottages. With an air of peace and tranquility, Parwich dates from Saxon times, although at nearby Roystone Grange the remains of a Roman farm have been discovered. The nearby Manifold River cuts a course through superb scenery and is a delight for both walkers and cyclists, with the 'Manifold Trail' following the route of the old Leek to Manifold Light Railway. Nearby are the pretty village of Ilam, the award winning village of Alstonefield and Brassington, while golf, horse riding, cycling and sailing are all available within 7 miles. Enjoy a day out at Alton Towers or visit the impressive Chatsworth House and Kedleston and Sudbury Halls, all under 10 miles. Previous visitors' comments about Orchard View:
Everything we needed for the family and extended family was provided. The owners could not have done more for us. Great location to see the best parts of the Peak District. The snow was a real treat!
Mr & Mrs Dallimore, Wareham, March 2012
We loved the welcome from the cottage owner, she was genuinely friendly and helpful. The cottage location is perfect for dog walkers & folks who want to do nothing but trundle to the local pub for a few shandies. A great location to escape & unwind in peace and rural beauty. The cottage is lovely, a modern kitchen and plenty of space for everyone to mingle. We were all very happy to spend hours sat in front of the log fire just chatting and dozing. For the more adventurous folks, Parwich is only a short 20 minute drive to Ashbourne.
Mrs Burns, Bordon, December 2011
The location was very good, the garden and village was perfect for two young children. We could walk safely around the country lanes.
Mrs Price, Ellesmere Port, September 2011
