Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th Century, the town was a fashionable social centre and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are closeby. Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.

A charming Grade II listed terraced cottage, tucked away in a delightful and quiet position, yet just a stone’s throw from Ashbourne’s main shopping streets and alleys. The brick built cottage has been recently refurbished throughout and offers extremely well furnished and comfortable accommodation whilst retaining many original features including old beams and cast iron and stone fireplaces. An excellent base from which to explore the south west corner of the Peak National Park - particularly the Dove and Manifold Valleys.
Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x single (with second 2ft 6’ bed which pulls-out from underneath single). House bathroom with bath with electric shower over, washbasin and WC. Delightful kitchen/dining room with gas fire. Sitting room with ‘living flame’ gas fire. NB: The first floor is reached by a steep staircase.
Electric heating from night storage heaters and additional heating from gas fires in kitchen and sitting rooms. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, automatic washer/dryer, colour TV, video, DVD player etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Duvets and pillows provided, please bring own bed linen.
