The peaceful, idyllic village of Great Hucklow lies on the border of the distinctive landscapes of the Peak District - the limestone dales of “the white peak” and the gritstone moorland of “the dark peak” - thus providing wonderfully contrasting walking country. The area offers wonderful walking opportunities from the doorstep and gliders can be seen most weekends at the local airfield at Hucklow Edge. The village pub, which serves food and interesting beers, is a mere 2 minute walk away, while the neighbouring villages of Tideswell and Bradwell are well worth a visit. Tideswell is home to the ‘Cathedral of The Peak’ and the historic lead mining village of Bradwell is a gateway to The Caverns and The Pennines. With Bakewell, Buxton and Castleton all within easy driving distance, there are numerous touring opportunities. An ideal base for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.
